Taken way out of context. That quote is from our tech article comparing universal fit 2.0 coilovers, not OEM shocks like in this video.

I would like to see this sort of test done with more budget friendly set ups. I have the eibach 2.0 coilovers and I'm happy with them but I am curious if the fox 2.0 or the bilstien 6112 give a better ride.

If you do it again, what would be really cool for data nerds like me is if you ran the comparison while running a basic accelerometer app. So the same sections at the same speed, and you have actual comparative graphs that either support or argue with your "butt dyno."

    I second this!

    .

I know these guys dropped a crap ton of money into shocks but I would love to see how various levels stack up. Stock vs 5100 vs 6100 vs 8100 or even stock OR vs pro fox vs premium fox

We really want to do this! It's in our plans for sure, just want to see how the reception goes with this first series to see if enough people are interested! It's really up to you guys whether it happens or not!

Cool idea! Always looking to improve and make things better. Will try to see if we could incorporate something like this next time!

This is one of those ideas where you’re like damn, can’t believe no one’s done this. Love watching them. I second doing the “basic” bitches next! OME, 5100s, Dobinsons that arena. I feel like most of those brands probably have the same “feel” across vehicle platforms so it could be helpful for a lot of folks.

Interesting, disappointed about the Bilsteins. Need to watch the rest but any good for on road performance for cornering and brake dive? I'm happy with my TRD pro foxes but would like the adjustably for rally stuff and parts availability since springs look like they're hard to get ahold of.

I'm a little surprised by the Bilstein. I had to remove the sway bar from my 6112s because they are so firm on road. They do roll and dive a little, but those 8112s were visibly rolling and diving. I wonder if the difference in behavior really is that huge.

It surprised me the Fox were so bad. I'd like to see what the trd pro fox shocks do in comparison. These videos do make me feel better about buying a cheaper suspension set up. The money to performance ratio doesn't really seem to be there.

Same. Somehow I thought that the upper grades were magically better under all conditions, but it's looking like some of them are more task specific.

... I still wouldn't want to take my cheaper set airborne though.

8112s are definitely softer than 6112s running the 8112s how they come from bilstein with 600# springs they come with. However they are still very very stable feelings in corners and fun as hell to drive the faster you go on road imo. I do plan on installing the 650# spring soon since I’ve added steel skids and gone to stage 2 on my rxt leafs. Considering adding aftermarket hangers as well. I didn’t mean to quote you btw bandit

Well how does your suspension compare to the one on the video? Pretty much on par? How about the noise? Do you have a sway bar?

No im running aftermarket JBA UCAs and a sway bar currently. Was going to try it removed after I went to heavier 650# springs. Really only thing on par with test of my setup is front and rear shocks. Not at all trying to come across as I’m going against what they’re reporting

And how does the handling compare?

    How about the noise?

    Thanks

I haven’t noticed any noise with mine whatsoever and they handle very well imo. The rear end will get slightly free going 65- 70 around back country roads with curves but they’re very easy to handle in my experience. By free I just mean comfortable and turns very easy

While it is commendable that you are on the right track, there are still far too many variables for someone to decide what suits their need and make an informed purchase.

Load and distribution of that load, spring rates, rear springs.......

Gotta say I'm shocked there isn't a static load in the truck and that was an afterthought.

Sort of, but this was meant to be a strictly oem replacement type test... Im sure these guys had way more on their minds than loading the back, which most of the time I personally drive without anything major in the back. Also, all seemed to buck so far, which we all know will be better with some weight... So, I still think this is great. And heck, this is SOOO much more data and proof than we have ever had, so, unparalleled at this point...

It would be a major cost and rabbit hole to go down with different rear suspension, weights, etc etc.
