Can you list what springs were used for each shock, appears stock rear, but which coils?

Stock coils as that's what the shocks were designed for. Lots of people throw heavier/longer coils on these shocks and then complain about the ride, but they were not tuned for heavier or longer coils. To keep it fair we used OE coils on all of them.

They are designed for stock coils and leaf packs? I guess that is why OME, Dobinson and others make their own coil and leaf pack for their shocks.

I appreciate the effort but their appears to more effort put into comedy showmanship than testing and data.

Thanks for posting this, I tried to distill key points from your overall ranking. Am I correct that part way through the video it was revealed that the Fox 2.5's were unknowingly modified first by significantly drilling the pistons before testing? If this is correct, it would seem useful to indicate this also in the overall ranking chart near 38:20 so as to maintain the effort to improve the fidelity of your Fox 2.5 stock performance evaluation.

If the Fox 2.5 were drilled before testing, I really think the summary ranking chart should clearly indicate this or the Fox 2.5 should be removed from the comparison until a stock Fox 2.5 can be included.

Because they sell their own coils does not mean that they are not designed for the stock springs.

To be frank, that was immensely rude. If you watch their other videos they are not some slap stick "influencers" on social media just to make a buck. I didn't like the format they chose but they have more than proven themselves to be knowledgeable on the subject.

The shocks that were designed for stock coils used the stock coils. The shocks that are sold with their own coils used those particular coils. Hence the Dobinsons’ having green coils, Eibachs silver, etc.

All the trucks were setup to have 2" of lift, or as close as possible on the clips. The shocks designed for stock coils used stock, the shocks designed for their own coils used the coils that are rated for a stock weight truck.

We also have deep dive videos coming up on each shock that we go into proper detail for those of you who actually understand suspension and want more detail. This video is meant to be more attainable to the masses, plus just have fun making something creative. Just standing by a table talking about valving is pretty boring honestly, but that's what we did for the deep dive videos that should drop in a week or two.

Yes the fox 2.5 had a bleed hole drilled in the piston for the testing, but we didn't know this when we tested (ian forgot about it since it was over a year ago). That's why we did that little disclaimer.

I personally bought all of the shocks we tested (6 setups for low budget, and another 7 coming up in mid budget), paid for all of the gas and time to drive to California and do all of the testing, plus all the food for the full crew, plus paid my 2 friends to film and edit, then we spent 4 months editing just this one series, and we still have the mid budget series to edit. It's an insane amount of work, time and money that I will never recoup, but we do it because we love it, and we want to know for ourselves what are the best, so we can recommend the appropriate shocks to each customer. Hopefully some people appreciate the effort and decide to purchase shocks from us in the future, but either way we're gunna keep making them as long as we have questions we want to answer.

Also, we did have an accelerometer for all of the tests, but unfortunately the data was corrupted and lost for the low budget series. We will have proper data for the mid budget series coming up.

This is an awesome series. If I didn't already have eibach 2.0 coilovers I'd be purchasing my shocks from you guys. On that subject I am really happy with the 2.0s. I think they ride great but if I I had to buy again after seeing the high end video and the budget video I'd go with a bilstien product.

I’ve enjoyed watching this series more than any shock comparison/informative video out there. I feel like it’s the driver seat feedback everyone is curious about for OEM replacement shock upgrades.

I’d assume most brands keep their valving characteristics similar amongst makes and models, so it can help a lot of other people make better decisions, as well. Keep up the good work @WormSquirts . It’s not going unnoticed.

This was so awesome! Ok, I get it, the work and the results are the thing, but just like a SpaceX launch, the landing of the first stage is so fun to watch. The reveal segment was hilarious! My wife had to come into the office and see what I was watching.

"The was YOUR idea!" so funny - and after the third "event" - the two of you just anticipating the inevitable! Thank you!

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
You did what you could with what you had or could get, your tests were the combos most or a lot of people will do on their trucks.

Some of yalls acting wasnt great, but you still conveyed your overall thoughts/experiences.

I love how my 5100's are rated just as good as Fox 2.5's.

Only difference in this videos is they are NOT testing the 5100's at 2" Lift. Best thing I ever did.

Why didn't the Fox 2.0 make it on the list? Either the C clip or threaded versions.

Great info and thanks for putting it together!

Oh there will be some mods all right
Thank you for going through all that, definitely appreciate it. Sorry if it was answered elsewhere, but there's a mid priced video going to be made as well right? I'm assuming that would be 6112s, mt64s, etc?

I’m really surprised the Dobinson IMS did so poorly, especially at 3X the cost of 5100s. The Dobinsons have great reviews everywhere I look, especially here on TW. At $1500, though, that’s comparable to Bilstein 6112/5160. Guess I’ll have to wait for the mid-budget reviews!

I’m also surprised the nitrochargers did horribly. It sounds like the Nitrocharger Sport shocks were tested and not the newer Nitrocharger Plus ones. I would hope the newer nitrocharger shocks are valved better!
