    Yeah. The breakable clips are on the mirrors themselves that snap over four bars on the mirror mounts. You can't easily break those bars. The new mirrors will not break when installing, only when removing.

    I removed the adjustable base, it just stuck out too far. On my passenger side, I did use some of the extra tape to build up and lift one edge of the mirror to help with the final angle

    ^^^^^ This. My dad used these on his pickups forever when I was a kid. I have used them on every car/truck (if needed) and even my motorcycles for the last 40 years. I don't trust electronics 100%, I do trust my own eyes.
