Same thing happened to mine last year while driving several hours through a snow storm. The truck was well out of warranty, so I never bothered taking it in. I turned off the BSM system and just let it go until this past spring when I started looking into it. Pulled off both of the rear bumper corners and sprayed down/cleaned the BSM modules and cleaned the electrical contacts with contact cleaner. That didn't fix it. After more research, I learned that there are error codes that must be cleared that will only show up in Techstream and that only Techstream can clear. I bought a $165 Tactrix Openport 2.0 cable and configured an old laptop with one of the bootleg Techstream downloads floating around out there in the interwebz and proceeded to clear the codes. Techstream acknowledged that the codes were cleared, but it didn't immediately fix the issue. The next day, with it still not working, I decided to see what would happen if I activated the BSM system and just left it on for my entire 35 minute drive to work. Lo and behold, about 10 minutes into my drive I realized the my BSM was working again and the error message was gone. Haven't had any issues since. Nowadays, I usually leave the BSM system turned off and I definitely won't use it while driving in snow or even heavy rain for fear it will crap out again.

Yeah I’m not stoked, I’ve read a few people that said they cleaned it, disconnected the battery and it cleared itself out, that’s my next step.

Come to think of it, I actually tried that first with no luck.

Well that didn’t work, time to start sending some emails to corporate.
