Doesn't surprise me I almost hit a car in my blind spot yesterday as the damn thing didn't work. I always look but not like if I didn't have BSM, from now on I won't trust it.

What bothers me about the trailer monitoring system is that it doesn't like it at all when I throw my bike rack on the back. Thing goes ape shit when I put it into reverse. Am I missing something? It senses that there's something in the receiver (the bike rack), but beeps like crayzeeeee when I put in reverse, obviously thinking that I'm about to hit something.

    Any suggestions?

Actually it has everything to do with towing a trailer, totally irrelevant otherwise

There was an issue where the system would not come out of trailer mode. I had it done and it was quick and easy. It didn’t work at first. I had to plug my trailer in and unplug and drive a short bit before it asked me if the trailer was actually disconnected. I answered “yes” and the problem hasn’t returned. I tow a lot.

The trailer blind spot monitoring is extended BSM over the normal mode so that it see further behind than normal. It is only active in trailer mode and you tell the system how long your trailer is, though I’m not sure if that is taken into account for the trailering BSM.

Did mine today…(no towing issues)…good thing too……found truck alignment out of whack, and took care of that under warranty (free), including reprogramming steering computer.
Visits to dealer to take care of recalls are a pain, BUT can be worthwhile.
