So yesterday I brought home my new Taco. I turned on the blind spot monitoring system while driving home. The switch illuminates and I see the icons flashing on both mirrors. I never heard anything from it all the way home, and when I put it in the garage at work and at home. Isn't this thing supposed to make some kind of an alarm go off or is it possible I just wasn't close enough to anything?

No noise. Just those lights in the mirrors and only above 15 or so mph.

^ like stan23 said. The only beeps you will hear is if you have back up sensors activated.

    How do you activate them?

It's the cross traffic sensors. It only beeps if you are in reverse and the truck senses perpendicular cross traffic. It's the button next to the blind spot mirror button.

To be honest, all this is covered in the manual.

Thanks Stan. My apologies. Didn't even get a chance to pick up the manual. Stuck here at work without the truck and just thinking of this stuff.

No apologies necessary! I will admit that I did not read the manual from cover to cover, and have learned a lot here.

The tips and tricks sticky up top is a must read if you haven't hit that yet!

Also, I recommend not reading any of the 'problem' threads if you have OCD like me. :)
