    I guess needing a community consensus instead of taking some initiative is some millennial thing. Similar thing happened on a linux forum on reddit the other day. Someone pops in, asks a question that's answered in any of the first 10 links if you post the exact same question into google or any other search engine. When asked about why he asked the question on reddit, instead of a search engine, the OP said they preferred asking the community first because he couldn't trust the search engine answer, and wanted to be able to discuss questions about the procedure. I have no clue why they couldn't have started at the search engine, then, IF there were questions come to the forum and say "I have this problem, and see this possible solution, but I don't understand/need clarification/want validation".

    Having done some sort of IT work for 25 years, I'm always much more interested in helping someone that does some research before they just start changing things they don't understand, blaming the problem on <whatever>, or just expecting someone else to fix it for them.
