so i know alot of tacomas have problems with the DTRL lens cover heating up and cracking....so there is a few things i would like to know

ive tried partsgeek.com and could not find a new lens for the blinker (i need a new one because my dumb a** did the BHLM and wanted to tint the DTRL cover and pressed too hard when sanding and broke one):annoyed:

also i know there is a mod where you can have them not always on...where can i find this mod?

any help is appreciated....im new to the 2nd gen tacoma so im not sure where to find all these mods bc the list of mods for these trucks is so large

btw i have an 09TRD package if that matters
    thanks in advance

there are a lot of 2nd gen trucks with melting lenses out there. seems to be 09 and newer. if you talk to your toyota dealer, they play dumb, just as dealer people always do. i understand that if the truck is still under the original 3yr/36k warrantee, they will replace the HOUSINGS. the lense is not replaceable alone. you need the entire housing. the problem as you already know is the excess heat from the DTRL bulb. i cut the wire on mine to eliminate DTRL. altho too late as the lenses were cracked and melted. so, at least when i replace the housing, it won't happen again.

you cut the wire and toggled it or just cut it and left it alone? those lights are used as blinkers too lol
i dont have the 36k warranty any more but im still under 100k warranty, might cost to replace tho

i cut it and left it alone. does not interfere with the signal operation.
