God you guys are really taking me back for a loop with all these places I used to frequent.

How sad we have fallen so far and so lazy with these new methods. Just an indicator of our progression (regression more like it) of society.

    This.

I'd rent N64 and then Gamecube games... Literally would not turn the system off for an entire weekend because the couple of memory cards that we did have were FULL with like 2 game saves from games we actually owned.

One day you will be able to tell the grandchild about the old days when it was tough. “Grandchild, we used to have to gauge storage in megabytes!”. Uphill both ways.

Lots of memories of blockbuster, I was a CSR (Customer Service Rep) then a CRC (Customer Relations Coordinator) and took shifts at five local stores.

“This job would be great if it wasn’t for all the fucking customers.”

They held out as long as they could.

Now if something isn't on Netflix or Prime, I'll grab it from Redbox. Or just wait.

I remember getting a pair of those huge baggy JNCO jeans in the 90s and my mom threw them out.

Also - those snap on pants were really popular (the ones that snapped up the sides of the legs), except inevitably someone in school would run up to you and pull them off, leaving you standing there pantsless in the hallway lol.

I remember radio shack being mildly infuriating. They always knew what you needed but never had it in stock lol.

You had two choices when you wore those pants. Be a legend and wear no underwear for the inevitable, or wear shorts under. I wore shorts.

Thought most of the mentioned establishments were still in business. Guess I need to get out more o_O.

The closest "big" town where I grew up had one stop light and the few eating establishments were local non-chain. Going out to eat was normally at the picnic table in the back yard...small farm life with six of us kids and a big garden. We did have an A&W restaurant I'd frequent when I was on my way home from work (8 miles one way on my bike) with a cute girl I crushed on :D
