Incorrect, recirc will still pull in some fresh air.

CO will only be coming from outside if he hadn't "sealed" the inside off, it's a product of combustion.

CO2 is the "danger" if inside is sealed, from people breathing.

How about the rear vents you know the ones that let the air flow through the truck you going to fill them up too? Recirculate works pretty good for the 99%.

I came across this thread because I'm having the same issue—fumes and exhaust coming in from outside even with the recirculate button on. I can see the recirculation door opening and closing. Instead of foaming up the intake hole, I tried a temporary fix by placing a folded towel over it for testing. What a difference! The AC is colder, and no more fumes are coming into the cabin. But, as many of you mentioned, it should work fine if everything is functioning correctly. So, what's the actual fix? Could it be the seal on the recirculation door?

No its not . On every newer cars, recerculation doesnt close oustide air 100% . It close 90 to 95% . Ive tested it . Just get wooden stick, let it on fire and when is start smocking, tell some one to get it close the ait intake place without burning any thing . Then get in the car start the fan and but it in on recerculation mode and then observe the smoke on the stick . Will see the smoke getting in and the cabin getting smoky . And the reason they do thjs is safety . Some people dont know how to use the ac and if they leave it on recerc on long trips they will ran out of oxygen and passout . So 5% of fresh air will sneak through the their even if recerc is on
