I don't want to make that crowd too jealous. I'm clearly in a different category.

Thanks, I didn’t know about changing back to standard Cruise control mode. I did a little reading of the owners manual and figured it out. For those who don’t know, when you activate CC with the on/off switch, hold it down a couple of seconds and it will turn on in old fashioned CC.

Yeah, that one took me a while to figure out, but I use it exclusively. I like the concept of radar cruise but the way Toyota programmed it is flawed. I drove a Maxima with it for a couple weeks and Nissan's implementation was much nicer

Winch is now wired and line is loaded. Not properly spooled yet due to my wife giving me signals that I needed to stop working on the truck...

This bumper locates the winch really high. I had to trim the grille support in the center to even get it installed.

Then, after fully tightening the bumper to the frame, I realized the handle on the winch was interfering with another area of the grille support (even deforming it) and there was no way to turn the handle to free spool.

Out came the Dremel to cut through 2 layers of plastic and then notch the metal to allow the handle to turn. I de-burred and touched up with some paint but warning to anyone who ever pulls a winch line for me, it's tight and sharp down there (just how I like it...wait ...)

I deliberated for a while on where the control box should go but ended up mounting it vertically near the winch.

Ran the power cables and everything works great!

What direction does the winch handle face?

Handle to the rear with winch engaged and to the front to free spool. Rotates 180 degrees

I meant the clocking of the clutch case on the winch.

I clocked mine so the handle comes out of the case at the bottom for ez access.

Oh, good point, I didn't mess with that. Currently, the handle is on the top of the case. I guess I could have clocked it 90 degrees forward.

Oh well, live and learn. The cutting I did doesn't affect anything. Maybe when I take the winch off in a couple years to service it I'll make this change

Oh man, I am raking in the expo points right now!

How many for the first 2 pics?

Christmas presents I opened early. Mountain Hatch and quick fists.

Also the CB, another Christmas present. I don't have it wired up yet, parts on the way and full installation on Wednesday.

I mounted with some heavy duty Velcro, because my wife told me she didn't want the radio exactly where I put it. Guess what, my truck my rules (he says, knowing full well that's only 75% true).

I was looking for a cav blue when I bought mine, but couldn't find one with the options I wanted. Settled on super white and, so far, I'm super happy.

Congrats! They are both great colors. I was in the same boat last year, I wanted Cav but ended up with white. Like you, I couldn't get the configuration I wanted. I had to go to CO to find a replacement, haha!

I'll take the totalling of my other truck as a sign that I was meant to be in Cav blue all along. It's a sweet color and I'm really enjoying it. I need to see how it looks with some mud on it!
