Replace the resistor, tweak the pins on the new resistor before you install it. Instead of them looking like this - - - - you will want them to look like this / / / / (not as extreme by the way, but the idea is to make a better connection on the plug which will the electricity flow better)

Have a beer afterwards. You are all done.
