That sounds like your alternator's voltage regulator is toast, or you have noise infecting an aftermarket stereo you have installed. Does it do it with the radio off?

Belt maybe... but likely something to do with the trans fluid.

Subbed, waiting to hear progress on the after market motors.

FWIW, I had the motor on my '09 replaced twice before the problem stopped. Now its deja vu with my 2010. Thank God I love the rest of my truck, 'cause this is dumb.

Just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago started chirping again today. Chirps on lowest 3 settings. I don't know if they actually changed it or just put in someone else s problem. If you get it changed ask them to keep the old one. They might be rotating the parts to save money and keep people from returning a $30k truck for a squeaking fan. I'm thinking the lemon law may apply here if they change the fan 3 or 4 times you might be able to get your money back on the whole truck.

    took mine into dealer, too...
started chirping like cricket on speed at about 5000 miles.
only on two lowest fan settings with heater on.
they said they'll call me when the part arrives, as it's on backorder.

I have an 11 I have the ticking noise in the fan not the chirping and the steering issue. And I have been waiting a couple weeks for a call back from the dealer on the fan at least I know it's back ordered now. I thought they were just blowing me off. They are still fighting me on the steering issue.
Oh yeah I have rust on my bumper and cat back tip. I hate to bitch like a pussy but WTF.
I was a big fan but this is pretty weak.
    Way to go Toyota.

Its TSB-0119-10 Intermediate Shaft Rattle Noise. Your Wheel feels really loose and funky when you are on uneven terrain/pavement at low speed and there is an audible rattle in the steering column. The TSB is for the 10's but search this site there are a bunch of guys that have the issue on their 11's and have gotten or are in the process of getting it fixed.

Dealer fixed mine a couple months ago, already starting to chirp again. And my windshield wiper motor is progressively getting louder by the day as well.

For reference, for those still waiting on fans to come in at their dealers, mine was replaced this Monday. That was one month and 2 days, I think, since I took it in and since they had initially ordered the replacement fan.

Happy to have had it replaced, but concerned it'll start again. Also concerned about this issue down the road since I think these are 3-yr 36k mile warranty issues (?) and I'm at 25k miles now.

I took mine in today, no questions asked. Service tech said he would call me when the new motor arrived. Can't wait to get rid of that noise!

Good to know it worked for you. As far as the noise coming back after warranty expiration, I'd be much more at ease knowing I've the newest piece of hardware possible. If it happens to come back after I get mine replaced, I'll just go the DIY route to clean everything up.

I'm still waiting on my (warranty) motor to arrive. The fan is now louder than the radio at normal listening level, and has progressed into the third fan setting. Woohoo!

I ordered the TYC blower motor (didn't feel like fucking around at the dealer, even though I probably should have.) and it finally came today. Installed it, and it's finally quiet in my cab! I about threw the damn thing out the window today driving home from Phoenix.

For those that were looking for it, I found it on eBay. Just search for the part number that was listed earlier in this thread.

I had, lost, and now have the chirping back. Brought it in for a check 3 times. Only the third time someone claimed to hear it. 2 days later I went back to have it 'replaced'.
These guys gave me HELL over my rear spring TSB so I wonder if they actually replaced anything. A few months after they allegedly replace the fan it began chirping again. Brand new 2010 now with 13k or so on it. I think they may have lubed it hoping it would stay 'fixed'.

Going to buy the Amazon blower (or find it on ebay).

Chirpin' like a bitch when I bought the truck at 14,xxx. It's at 18,xxx now and just as bad if not worse. I was in the service dept. Friday to pick up parts for the Rear Dif Mod and the parts guy said they had just changed part number for this TSB...maybe Toyota finally pulled their heads out of their asses and figured it out.

He also told me there were 22 other people ahead of me in line for the motor - 26 in total.
