Hello Friends, I'm new here, been lurking for years but first time posting. I'll try and make this short and direct. Blower motor would kick on and off frequently. A wiggle of the wire would fix it. Blower finally stopped blowing all together. Both blower motor connection and the female connector that plugs into the blower motor were fried. Replacing the blower motor, no problem.
The connector that plugs into the blower motor seems a little more complicated. I read on other posts which parts I need to fix the problem. In the photos below are the fried connector, the new connector and the new wires. My questions start here. Can I cut off the old connector and strip both the source wires and the new wires headed to the new connector, link them via two butt connectors (1 for each wire), clamp them down, shrink wrap and plug the new connector into the blower motor? Does it matter which wires I use for either side? Am I over simplifying? Will this fix my problem? Is this how you would splice a 12 gauge wire? Really trying to avoid replaceing the wiring harness and seeking professional help as times are strange and money is tight. Please send help Any advice is appreciated✌

Splice it but keep it as it were. White with a blue trace is on the left that’s where it goes in the new connector... keep it simple. Wire it as you see it. Cut burnt pieces out, strip back some of the casing and splice.... straight forward as it gets. Crimp it with a crimper and wrap it with some heat shrink or electrical tape. Heat shrink tubing goes on after you cut the burnt stuff out so you don’t forget it

I appreciate your reply! Additional questions if possible. Both the wires toyota gave me are yellow, does it matter which one I use on each side or as long as the wires plugged into the connector are on the right side it will be fine? Also I dont have to connect every single copper wire within the wires correct? Just strip the ends, stick em in butt connectors and clamp the down? Do I need actual crimps are are just butt connectors sufficient? Sorry for all the questions I'm just a half assed Jackass trying to keep his shit together.

Lol I’m about to fall asleep and maybe someone else can chime in. Proper tools help in these situations. Shave some coating off of the yellow wires to expose the copper. Please don’t cut or shave the copper wire. Either yellow wire will work ... it really doesn’t get any easier than this. If this catches on fire... I will not be held responsible ;-) usually a splice crimp comes with this repair... you could run and grab a splice kit that already has heat shrink on it. After the crimp you just apply heat to it. Maybe you need professional help with this situation so you don’t do more harm than good?

Ignor everything up to page #4 on the TSB below.
On page #4, it shows how Toyota recommends a wire repair.

Welcome Brandon, T-Yoda and TnShooter are right. I did this same job on my blower motor a few months ago. You can do this.
Notice the plug that goes into the motor will only connect one way.
Wire it so that the wires go into the motor the same way they did on the old connector.
