My xxxxx-xx043 motor if still going strong and quiet over a year later, the old one sounded like I was driving a GM. Not a coincidence, since Delphi (the maker of our hvac system) is a GM company. The new motor was tagged "made in china" and didn't bear any delphi markings, but its working well so far, even in cold temps that made the original chirp terribly.

    Bone Stock, for now
I'm still getting to know my truck but so far, it's one of the things on my short list of major annoyances...audible when the fan is on low or medium low...loud enough to make me have to turn the radio on to drown it out. Oddly, the heat works so well I only notice it because low is typically where I keep it :)

I'm in for a group buy. Been searching everywhere for lower prices as every dealer around me wants around $120.

Have to do the same with mine sugartits. I think after 173k miles it might be time for a new blower. Dont have high anymore either, think the brushes are about done. 105 from Camelback. I would be exremely surprised if he did a group buy as Camelback is the supplier, not the vendor.

I replaced mine a year ago. The ticking is back and it even ticks when the fan is off and not rotating. Can this be something else?

I think the newer motor was installed in '12's. It may have been '13's, but I think 12's. I have an '11, and it has the old one. Parts descriptions refer to '05-'11.

bought my pre Runner 2 months ago and heard the blower squeek on the way home, gonna get the new blower next week and ask them to throw the old blower in the truck, you never know when the new one might bite the dust and at about 300 bucks I can deal with the noise for a little while after the extra care runs out.

Keep getting mine replaced, lasts a few months and then starts squeaking again, even with the TSB done. Now that my warranty is out this whole thing is really just ridiculous and made me start having doubts about Toyota as a company.

I took mine out and oiled it, put graphite on it, and even drilled a hole in the squirrel cage so I could lube the other end. It worked for about a week. I finally bought a new one from Rock Auto and no noise for a year. I didn't just want another of the same. Drove me nuts!

Yep, mine had horrible squeaks. It sounded like a little mouse was stuck in there and was in pain. Anyways, I had to bring it to the dealership a few time before they finally fixed the problem. My first visit, the dealership stated that they didn't hear any squeaks and there was nothing for them to fix. Second visit, they stated that they re-lubed the motor and everything was okay. It was definitely not fixed. Finally my third visit, I had them sit in the truck with me and let them hear the squeak. They replaced the motor and stated that it was a known issue. No squeaks or noises ever since.

The replacement was probably in 2011 or '12. I can't quite remember.

I have a 2011 and it drives me bat shit fckn crazy!!! I kick myself for not taking it in while still under warranty. Too late now but even if I did it sounds like a lot of folks still had the problem. I would be interested in a group buy.

My 05 did and my 11 I had previously did squeak but I fixed them by taking it a part and cleaning the bottom of motor with MAF cleaner and luckily my 13 has been good so far.

Bought a new one from Toyota locally 145$ but I needed to change it or I was going to sell the truck it was so annoying. I installed myself only took about 30 min.
