So I thought I had this problem figured out (and I still might) but my understanding is if your air only runs on high then it’s your blower Moyer resister.
Well all of a sudden two days ago it randomly turns on and off on lower speeds.
Should I still plan on the blower motor resister or look at something different??

Hi is the default, the lower speeds are where it is burnt, they "may" work from time to time. Resister is would still be my first step.

The same thing happened to me. It was my resistor. Once replaced the a/c worked on all speeds.

I've got this problem too. I just went out tapped the bottom, and all of a sudden the lower speeds worked, again.

When you change your resistor also check the condition of the connector. Most likely it will be fine, but on some vehicles it can get fried.

I went through the same thing for close to a year. It would sporadically work. It will eventually get worse and not work. I just replaced it with oem parts, which are now completely different and updated from the originals. hopefully toyota solved the issue.

It sure is easy enough to check. Unplug it and look at it.

Most likely the fan switch. Unplug the connector and see if it's burnt.

The newer updated resistor was $5 cheaper than the previous version. I bought mine on Amazon and the one I ordered came with the new plug. $20.

I had the same issue, so I bought a new resistor after reading through some threads but it did nothing. Mine ended up being the blower itself, so now I've got a resistor when when it actually goes bad.
