I took mine out and took it apart and greased the two bearings. It has been about a month and still no squeak!

Look at the top of this thread:

    Tools needed:
5.5 MM socket, phillips screwdriver, grease, and a tie down strap.

Stand on your head, remove 3ea. 5.5 MM srews. (passenger side)
Remove wiring connections, remove motor fan assy.
I used the tie down strap, with motor on the floor, using my feet to hold the fan housing, placing the tie down strap under the fan, pulled up, and the fan came free of the motor shaft. Removed the plastic motor housing with 3 or 4 screws, removed 2 screws holding the bottom of the motor together. Removed the armature carefully keeping the contact springs in place. Clean, grease bushings.. put it back together.. NO..chirps!

I hope this helps, if you are good with a wrench you will not have any problems.

I'm gonna do this one time then I'm gettin a new fan if it comes back. I think if goes too long you'll wear the bushings out.

I tried the strap method and cracked the entire fan assembly in half. It was REALY stuck on there good. Or I'm just hamfisted
Anyway. I cleaned the whole thing with brake cleaner on the main housing and electrical contact cleaner on the motor. There was lots of dust inside, dark redish brown crap. I lubed the bearings with spray on white lithium grease as suggested. I re-assembled and superglued my cracked fan assembly and NO MORE CHIRP. It does wobble A LOT at the highest speed (vibrates the whole dash) because a few blades are missing. Ordering another motor/fan assembly from Amazon before the summer hits.

If any of you still have this problem see your dealer, Toyota has re engineered this fan assembly. I just had mine installed

I was told last April the same thing....newly desinged motor installed and everything; only to find out 9 months later the squeak is back. I doubt highly that Delphi redesinged the fan supplied to Toyota.

I just did this, as my replacement fan was once again chirping. A few things to note:
If you have a couple long screw drivers, use one on each side of the fan, to pry the fan off. Also, a 7/32's socket will work if you dont have (or lost  ) a 5.5 mm socket. Instead of grease, Im using Mobil 1 10w-30. Not sure if I like the idea of using grease, as it will add a little bit more load to the motor. maybe not much, but being as the bushings were dry, Im guessing this was due to less friction/load on the motor, so I wanted to use a light oil instead. We'll see how long it lasts.

My 09 with 34,500 miles just started doing this so I'm going to call the stealer on monday. Going to get it done before the warranty runs out.

I had mine replaced twice.. Then got a call from the dealer that the fan was being re engineered, and it would be at least a 60 day wait. They had over 50 on back order.. I waited over three months for it. No problems thus far

I was at my dealer last week to have my wiper motor replaced under warranty and I checked on my fan motor. Was told it won't be in til spring and it's a new design coming to replace the old one. I hear the chirp on settings 1,2 and 3 but not high, yet. Driving me crazy! Service manager told me not to dig into myself and wait as it wasn't serviceable. Don't know if I can wait...Now that I know you guys are doing it I don't really care, I need it fixed and I can't wait til spring...

Well just do a quick PM on it yourself. Read the first few pages here to get a idea what is involved. On the weekend pop it out clean it and relube it with SAE 30 oil a few drops on where the felts are and a tiny bit on the shaft. Put it back in. They will be none the wiser.

After dealer telling me the blower motor came in today and me going to drop my truck off, now I get a call and them saying its on backorder... This sucks as mine is only working on the high speed and they said they can't replace the resistor until they replace the blower...

I am also fighting the blower fan issue problem. This will be my third motor in less than two years. Dealer is very aware of the problem, as i was told mine is back order number 15, and they cannot find a motor in North America. Maybe toyota should put a copper pipe to the bearing, and we could add a drop of oil every month :p

i took mine to the dealer and although they "couldn't hear the noise" (MORONS) they are ordering a new motor since it's under warranty. there's supposedly one other guy in line and they have no ETA on when the motor will arrive...
