I took mine in for the little chirp it was making on low speed. They said ahhh yes i know the little chirp.. The mechanic told me that toyota knows about the problem and that they would replace that motor with an upgraded model that they had to order. Well my invoice also proves that they replaced the motor. The toyota mechanic told me that this is a recall that they arent sending out a notice but if you bring it in they will fix it..

^Must be a technical service bulletin (TSB). Recalls are meant for safety-related fixes. The difference is you must be within warranty to get TSB work done for free.

Mine just started this and just went out of warranty. Is it covered out of warranty?

I've had mine replaced 3 times. Warranty expired a few months back, and I just noticed it squeaking again. Looks like I have a something to keep me busy one rainy afternoon this winter.

Had mine fixed. the dealer told me that there was a "new" TSB out for this. not sure if anyone has had this new motor put in yet, or if it even is a new motor. Anyone know what they put in here?

I have had mine replaced 3 times so far. Last time was with the new updated motor, it has the insulation kit, and its back squeaking.

Unfortunately 4042 has been around since about March  had it installed when it first came out and it squeeks a bit but not as bad as the previous version did. I actually haven't heard it squeek in about a month *knock on wood*

Well great to say, I pulled my blower motor out and using the pictures and description in the first note, I pulled my motor apart and using some white lithium grease and a que tip lubed up the two bronze bushings and then put it all back together. So far, after a couple of days, no more squeeking, ticking or other noise.

    Thanks TACOMA WORLD!!!

I'm on my 2nd motor and it squeeks so bad it doesnt matter what the temp is. It squeeks during a/c AND heat use. I'm going to clean it off and use some dry teflon lubricant. Stuff used for high end bike chains and off road ball joints that keeps them from squeeking

I just opened it up today...

used the stuff you use on your TC UCA's...

used it on the springs/rubber patches around the base casing. Also one of you said if you press on the rubber patches it'll go quiet. So imho it would mean the springs do not have enough tension. I pulled them a little bit to increase them like 20% in length and than stuck them back in. As of now the blower motor is queiter than it has ever been. Even when I got the truck. I did notice alot of copper shavings in the grease when I opened it up... We'll see how it works out in the long run but I think the stretching of the springs made the real difference.

@mantry and Razorecko: be prepared to repeat the procedure in a few months.

we'll see...My other idea is to use a zip tie or a clamp to wrap around the metal base of the motor and tighten it up. See if that tightens up the clearances enough to keep anything from making noise....If it wears out the motor sooner, oh well. The teflon lube is the only thing that will queit down my tc uca's from squeekin also. And I've tried every single possible lube, grease, and spray on those

My Tacoma has 667 miles on it. It just started chirping this morning. Only had it for two weeks and its chirping. That must a record haha. I think I'll skip the dealer and just buy an aftermarket one when the sound gets to annoying.

This ^^^^ I've tried some dry lude, and some Surgical high speed lube (all it says on teh bottle), and the dreaded chirping has returned. I had blower number 3 installed last week, so if it comes back, Im going to use the lithium grease.

:rant:This is all very sad:( and total bull shit. Toyota can't figure this out:confused: All they need to do is go back to who and what they were using 10 years ago or B 4 this all started.
