I will try the grease the OP suggested as my chirp is back again. I have been greasing the blower motor whenever it starts making noise. I then grease the creaking clutch pedal & squeaky clutch fork the same day as a preventative maintenance. It all lasts 3-4 months before I start the process all over again.

I'm definitely not faulting your effort because nothing else has proven to consistently fix the issue. Edison took 1000's of attempts before he got the light bulb right. I do wonder how something that is not designed to lubricate moving parts (anti-seize) will work over a oil/grease product. Maybe this will be the magic juice. Keep us updated.

FWIW, it's been 6 months since I did the fix described in post #440 on this thread and it's still totally quiet. I was kind of expecting trouble when the cold weather returned but so far so good.

Got the new blower motor installed today per the Oct 2011 TSB. Part Number 8710304043. No more ticks. All speeds sound quieter in general too.

Does anyone have a copy of the new TSB T-SB-0162-11? Does anyone have a copy or PDF of this?

I had been using the other one T-SB 0092-10. I already had the "new" blower motor installed, and it lasted about 6 months and is now chirping along. Is the new fan part number the same as the one I already have, 87103-04043? If so, this would be extremely disappointing!

I'll have to try the aftermarket one, maybe from Autozone, although it seems that it's just a rebranded TYC motor with a warranty. And either way it looks like I'm going to end up replacing my fan once a year. What a bummer! Hope replacing it is easy to do...

I had one replaced 3-4 months ago. It started doing it again. Lost the work order so I don't know what the part number was.

ETA: It was prior to the TSB coming out. I guess I'll be heading back for blower #3 with TSB in hand.

I've had the TYC from Amazon installed 5 months and twice in the past few days I've had a burning plastic smell and now it's started chattering loudly. I'm going to try to make time to swap the OEM back in, chirp and all.

I've emailed TYC to see if they will warranty it. If they go by their policy, which requires a certified technician, then they won't. We'll see. Them sending me a replacement means I might change my recently updated 1 star review on Amazon.

That fan sounds like it displaces more air than the stock fan. Is that true?

I haven't noticed any difference in airflow with the TYC blower.

@JimT: It's unfortunate we have to resort to aftermarket blowers at our own risk to address a problem with the OEM unit. The OEM Delphi (yeah, GM...) blower is made in Vietnam. The TYC blower is made in Taiwan. Had Denso designed one, it would probably be better quality.

I emailed TYC today and they responded that I should return it to where I bought it and the seller would handle the warranty.

I emailed Amazon and they are sending a new blower out. The CS rep said he made a one time exception to their return policy. I'm guessing that being a Prime member and repeat repeat repeat Amazon customer might've had something to do with it.

So thumbs down on TYC CS, big thumbs up for Amazon.

I'll run the new TYC for as long as it goes. If it catches on fire...I dunno.

^ Hope the replacement works out for you. Mine has been running fine for a year.

What would be the standard warranty if you had the blower installed by a professional mechanic? Around here it's 90 days or 10k, so you would still be paying out of pocket.

Hi all, I am new here having bought a 2010 double cab this past saturday.

Anyway, day 2 of having the truck I heard the chirping and it drove me crazy. Luckily, I found this great forum and stumble upon this thread and felt so much better seeing there was a TSB.

However, brought the truck in to toyota service today in freehold, nj. They are giving me such a hard time! I even wrote the TSB number down for them. They said they can only replace it if they can confirm the issue is happeneing to me. The mechanic claims he can't hear it. So, I go ballistic and they now want to keep it overnight and try it on a cold start tomorrow morning!?

    Wtf???

^Next time it happens, record it on video. If the dealer still gives you a hard time, try another dealer.

That's exactly what I did. I emailed the service manage with the video. Gave him the new TSB number and part number. I was in for service 3 days later when the part came in.

I got the "we can't reproduce it" twice before. So I basically told them if this video is not good enough, I would take it to the next level (no idea what that would be LOL) and that I would take my business to another dealership.

I can now see my 4x4 switch in the dark.
Had my crickets removed today sure hope they stay gone. I got the new part number put in today and its nice and quiet. My local dealership didn't even bat an eye at replacing it.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
I am on my second motor, they replaced the last one 3 months ago. Started chirping last week again. I took the motor out and used finishline bike grease on the bearings and balanced the motor. See if it works...
