I bought my 2011 tacoma in april and, most have been Oct. the blower motor was making a ton of noise on Low and the next speed up, took it to the dealer they swapped it out with a newer version.

At my Toyota dealership right now, they just replaced the chirping fan motor from my 2011. No hassles, no charge.

Can someone edit the first post to show the new part number as well. I just spent all day reading 42 posts to find out the new part number is a relatively cheap fix for an ongoing issue in the last 2 pages. Mods?

I have a 2011 Tacoma 4x4 base, It has 17,000 miles, The fan chirps on low, going to the dealership Monday. Once they get the parts in, how long (ball park) does it take to replace the blower moter and how difficult is it? Thanks in advance!

3 screws and 1 bitch of a pigtail connector. It's rather easy to do.

I got the new part number thanks to this site keeping me updated. My squeaking got less and took longer to come on with age (years of wearing in) but I was amazed at how silent the new motor is compared to my old one. We will see how it goes.

2011 TRD, 12k miles, brought mine in twice, they could not duplicate the squeek. called the service manager, said we have to do something, he replaced the motor, no more squeek, so nice!

Success! They even paper smithed the millage so I can take advantage of the warranty recall. All done for free!

After a short discussion with the shop, me explaining about reading this thread on the site...42 pages worth, he pulled up the info on his machine and showed me all the service bulletins and showing all the progression of part numbers.

So he calls the parts desk and they only had 1 left...imagine that.

Mine is "chirping" more now ... even when warm ... time to take it in for this and rear spring TSB.
