I'm on my second of the new model blower motor, and it is starting to get loud again(ticking noise). The first one crapped out just under a year, which is Toyota's parts warranty cut off. So far it looks like I'll be getting a new blower motor every year on Toyota's dime untill they care enough to put together a decent one.

Both were the part numbers ending with 43.

Did the fix in this write up about two months ago on my '11 and so far so good. used some mil spec aircraft grade Shell (AeroShell) grease. No smell! Just wondering how long it will last.

I just give my leaf springs, shackles, u bolts, everything, a good hosing with liquid wrench lithium grease once or twice every couple months.

AND AN UPDATE, my TYC fan started squeeking this week.......... had it in for about a year and a half. its always annoyed me though, has a very stupid whirr to it. So i ordered the delphi part, and when it arrives ill open it up, grease it, and put it in. the tyc part is sealed so i cant do it, and the original fan was tossed when i put the tyc one in.

Im currently looking for a comparable blower fan online that i can somehow splice a wiring harness into and plug it in.

I was having the same issue on mine, an 2005. The blower motor was replaced two times under warranty. Got it replaced a third time, Toyota paid for the parts but I had to pay labor as it was out of warranty. This blower motor has been whisper quiet for over four months now, was told it was the new redesigned blower.

Moral of the story is those of you still having trouble can get it fixed. There is a redesigned blower available, not quite sure why anyone would still be getting the old one.

The NEW blower motor part number is # 87103-04043. I bought a new one from a dealer on ebay for $119 with free shipping. I have also seen the new one on toyotapartsales.com for $109+shipping.

Easy install, took about 5 minutes and the AC blows so quietly now at the lower settings. Well worth the price. I had planned on doing the repair of the old blower but decided to get the new design.

There is no need to have a dealer install it. It's simple to swap the old with the new with a basic small socket set.

Are they worth adding to the truck and what do you gain?

Took mine apart, cleaned and lubed, 2 times before I finally complained to the dealer and got it replace for free. It lasted a few months each time before it started chirping again. New one has never chirped.

Just got my 3rd motor at Toyota of Rock Hill SC, $109 plus tax $116 and some change out the door, I changed the motor today and notice that the old one was made in Vietnam and the new one is made in China.

If your blower is chirping then the answer is an obvious yes. Even if you pay outright, this is a $200 fix for a noise that will drive you nuts. Before getting the "redesigned' blower I used to have to turn up the radio as a distraction.

Turning up the radio might just help with both... :headbang:

You will be if you bought it new. The dealership I use tried to scare me away at first by telling me that if something had gotten past the filters they would charge me $150 to pull it apart, never mentioning the fact that the squeak is a known issue.

I need to get a new one of these. The squeaking usually doesn't bother me, but I was in a bad mood the other day..oh man. felt like taking someone's head off haha

Replaced my fan with the new model and have had no problems at all. Well worth it if you have to pay for it and it is very easy to swap them out.
