The fan on my Tacoma randomly stops working. If I hit a bump sometimes it will go back on or if I shut it off and turn it back on, the fan randomly works again.
From what I read it is likely the blower motor and/or the motor resistor
I thought I read somewhere that a new motor might draw too much and cause the resistor to fail prematurely.
I was wondering if it's easier to just replace the blower motor and resistor at the same time even if they both don't need replacement.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

I am having a similar issue. It is likely the resistor or the harness going to the resistor. here are the updated part #s for the harness and resistor.

    resistor 87138-04070
    Harness 82141-04Q80

Check resistor and harness as others have said. 98.2% chance that's the problem.

You can drop the blower and make sure nothing is binding the wheel (like an acorn) then moving. Easy, costs nothing, you're there when replacing the wiring you're gonna find bad anyway. :D
