blown head gasket......messed up motor

    Alright so I still haven't gotten the head pulled but forgot to mention there was oil in the exhaust. So that probably means a messed up piston correct?

    There was no knocking of the engine before the problem was seen. The little truck was just as smooth running as a new one. Even still when it was running rough, engine didn't knock. It just shuddered and sputtered, almost like they do when you start them on a really cold morning.

    I did find a 2.7 L engine out of a 1997(I think) tacoma. Will this drop in our 2002 model? Ignition coils and everything the same or need to be changed?
