    probably gunna sell the truck after this.

    mechanic said engine was no good, 2200 to replace it

    Dont let the mechanic screw you, if all you did was blow a head gasket I wouldn't replace the whole engine. Get a high quality head gasket and torque wrench and have the head pressure tested for warp. If most you may have to replace the head... Not 2200 bucks.

    For a good head gasket maybe $105, $25 fo change the oil, and $150 or so to pressure test it depending on the machine shop....

    apparently there is knocking that goes with this smoke. they are telling me i'll need a replacement engine possibly. they have one with 87000 miles and will put it in and everything for 2200

    Oh if its knocking you may have a serious bottem end problem, 2200 still seems too high for a used engine replacement though... I would definetly check other places.....

    well i misunderstood my dad, he told me 2100 for everything out the door, they also said it could be less but no more than that.

    they are working on a 2002 that threw a rod, wish i could've gotten the engine with 17000 they are putting in it haha
