Mine is still new but since it's a darker color, I'm sure dirt and dust will show easily. It's the price you pay for a pretty truck. :)

It's an automatic. I put a deposit in on a 2021 back in June. I ended up taking this truck that was allocated to the dealer because I was tired of waiting. I wanted the blue crush do it was an easy choice. I'll bet a MT would have taken a lot longer.

I just got done watching this video. I think if you watch the whole thing it gives you a very good idea of the color....at least it's what I saw when I looked at it on the dealer lot. Purple highlights in the direct sun and more of a royal blue when it's not as sunny/overcast. It's a great looking truck and one of the reasons I ordered a 2022 Tacoma was because I like the body style and you never know what the next gen will look like.

Finally got my blurple beauty today (Offroad 4x4 DCSB). Had to travel to Colorado to get one with a manual but worth the wait.

A night of rest and then the drive back to Texas tomorrow.

I've decided to blackout mine. I think it will only involve 3 badges and the grill emblem. And wheels. Can't forget the wheels...

Some thoughts on the truck after driving home about 600 miles from picking it up.

Note: bought my truck without seeing the color or driving one first. (Needed a reliable, less than 40k truck that could pull 3500lbs and hold its value). I did watch several video reviews first so was not unaware of some shortcomings.

I love the color. Yes it does have a purple hue at times. Mainly notice from the driver position looking out over the hood. I’ve already gotten several nice compliments at gas stations about it. Standing outside it overall looks really nice and i love the look of the high sided factory Goodyear tires. I also like the body colored rear bumper. I would prefer all black wheels on this model but they were not available. A blackout package would look great on it, will be doing that myself. Tinted windows would also enhance the look but my eyes are old and that is hard at night for me so won’t be adding that.

Oh the power, I know it isn’t a sports car, but come on Toyota, add more low end torque. Gotta ring the heck out of that engine, thank god for the manual. Traversing some mountainous terrain required a lot of shifting. Clutch isn’t smooth, definitely truck like.

Like the interior mostly. Headroom is good for me, I’m 5ft 10inches (no sunroof). Non JBL radio is pretty feature nice but sounds terrible. Like and old 70s fm radio with regards to speaker clarity. As other threads on this forum have noted, would improve drastically with better dash speakers. We be doing that upgrade asap.

Driver seat is mostly comfortable for a long trip. I’m about 200lbs and found the seat width a bit narrow, with my butt sitting on the side bolsters got a bit sore after a couple hundred miles.

Driver position was real nice for me. Enjoyed the auto adjusting cruise control more than i thought i would. Auto high beam headlights were also a nice touch.

Road noise inside was also low. Was surprised the tires were as quiet on the rough highways as they were a pleasant surprise.

Overall love the truck and the color. Just wish the engine had a little more grunt.

It's a truck clutch for sure. Which I like. It will get better as well. After about 2000kms mine is noticeably better than it was when it was new. Took a bit of a break in. I had also never driven a vehicle with a brand new clutch.

I'm about to do the accumulator delete which should help a bit. Otherwise, no complaints.

I test drove a Tacoma in 2016 when the 3.5L came out and I couldn’t agree more with the power. I went with a 4.0L in a 2016 4runner instead. But the time has come to replace my old Tacoma so I’ll live with the no low end torque I guess.

I was finally able to put a deposit down on a 2022 TRDOR DCSB MT in Blue Crush this morning. They are still estimating 3-6 months, so post your pictures to make the wait seem shorter!

Unpopular opinion: Looks good in the sun. Not so much on cloudy days. Nautical blue metallic rules them all.

It doesn’t look that bad on cloudy days in person, just not great in pictures.
