Blue Crush Metallic Thread

Wow that pops in the sun!

 

OK, so I was all set to order a Blue Crush Metallic from the dealer.....they actually had one on the lot that was already sold. When I saw the truck it was cloudy and it was really BLUE, exactly what I wanted.....then the sun came out and then it turned more PURPLE...I see what people were talking about. You actually have to see this color in person before you order it or to know if you like it. I was 100% sure I wanted this color but now I'm thinking Barcelona Red I went to get some pics of it but they had taken it in to get detailed for the new owner. YOU NEED TO SEE THIS TRUCK IN PERSON to see if you like it or not. Still on the fence about the color....anyone else have this problem?

 

I mean I personally don’t mind purple, but I still haven’t seen blue crush on a Tacoma (in person). I’ve seen it on a few Corollas and I thought it looked good. It looks good in the picture I posted a week or so ago.

 

Samuel.Rowland, I'm not knocking the color...everyone likes different things. It may just take some time for me to get used to it? I saw it on a TRD Sport and that is what I'm thinking of ordering just need to decide on a color. The people on the lot that I asked what color they saw said BLUE.

I just picked mine up last week. The photos are spot on as far as color representation goes on an average day. The color really does vary throughout the day. On a sunny day the color is a bright vibrant blue. In the evening it becomes a darker blue, and as the sun is setting, it picks up the reds from the sky and has a very slight purplish color. At night it looks almost black. I love the color and I feel the Tacoma wears it well. It is way better than I hoped for when I put a deposit on the allocation at the end of July. I gambled a little on the color and so glad I did.

 

A question for those that have one or are appreciating the photos, do you think the color is too dark to get the blackout emblems/inserts with the blue? I really like the idea of the black with this blue, and the photos of the trims with black fender flares makes me think it would look good. I'm curious what others think.

 

Nope not at all! That’s my plan with mine when I get it. Blacked out emblems and black steps and wheels.

 

My plan is to get the black overlays for the letters. I also plan on covering up the chrome rear bumper caps with a set of Black TPO Bumper Shelz from EcoLogical.

That is a nice looking blue, but I think I still like Voodoo Blue better...I might be biased however.

 

I personally am getting the blackout emblems and inserts, but it’s not by choice since I decided I can always take them off if I dislike them. I’m thinking as of now that I might not like the black on a darker color truck, but seeing it in person should let me decide of what I want to do. I plan to put some Enkei RTP1’s in silver on which might go better with chrome badges.

 

It looks like shit with the chrome in my opinion

 

Peesonally I dont thing its the best shade of blue to have black flares and other trim. I would go with the sport or SR5 model if I bought one in that color. Matter of personal taste and opinion

Here are some static images of another XP Predator with the blackout package. I must admit, I really like the black on the blue. Now, if I can just get to the point where I can go and order mine. Soon, just not soon enough.

 

Love the look!!! If it had a roof rack and side tube steps, would look just like mine when I get it. Well minus the wheels that I want to order too!

 

I wasn’t sure about this color but as I cruised through the pics I actually found that I really like it. I think the one with the black package and the black TRD wheels looks especially clean, at least IMO.

 

Been incognito for a while, but figured I'd post a question for you guys. I have one of these on order (TRD Off Road premium, 5 ft bed) and it should be here before Thanks Giving. Personally, I could go another way on color, but I'm under a time constraint so went ahead and ordered one in this color as it was available. So, my question is.. If you were going to put new wheels on, would you stick with black, or go with gunmetal or perhaps bronze? I dig the gunmetal pics from before, but they were indoor pics. Any opinions?
