Great idea, thanks. Any idea what the radius is that it checks within? If I put in zip codes all over my state (Utah) there are zero matches for a DCLB Sport in BRM.

If I search just for a DCLB SR5 it returns results, so that's one option to think about. I've already been searching the forums and Google, but does anybody know of a thread with all the details on either the differences between SR5 and TRD, or what it would take to make an SR5 equivalent to a TRD? I know the seats and suspension are different, just wondering what else (that matters). Maybe I could get the dealer to put in some TRD seats... Also, I'm going to lift the truck so I think the suspension differences don't matter (right?).

My other option is to go with a TRD Off Road, which the Toyota site also shows as available in my area. I'm just really stuck on the DCLB thing, though, which is why I didn't just go with Off Road to start with (as I'm not particularly fond of the Sport package, TBH).

Try entering zip codes from states around Utah. If they show up on the inventory list, a local dealer can do a dealer trade and get it for you, or just take a road trip and pick up what you really want.

Alright, I'll check Boise, Denver, and Vegas and see what I can find. I'm sure the dealer has already done this, but... I guess this would just cement in my mind why he hasn't been able to find a truck for me (and make me less mad/frustrated with him and the whole situation).

This is not always a safe assumption. Of course there are many variables and some dealerships are more helpful than others, but dealer trading isn't quite as simple as it seems. If one dealer has a high demand vehicle at the end of a model year in a color that is desirable and/or rare they aren't going to be quick to want to trade it to another dealer. Good luck in your search, the color is well worth the wait!

I just did an inventory search for Boise, Idaho with zip code 83701 and it shows (2) DCLB Sport Tacoma's in BRM. Print out the sheet and take it to your dealer. Or try another dealer. They can get you one if they really want too. Or call a dealer in Boise. Sounds like a nice road trip to me. Good luck.

Thanks for checking around for me. My dealer called about those ones in Boise, and was told they don't have them. So the Toyota site isn't too accurate, apparently.

He did, however, find a dealership in Washington that has at least one (Toyota's site shows two, but...). Unfortunately, they say it will cost $1600 to ship it to Utah. WTF? Dealer is trying to work with me to get that down some, but I'm seriously considering flying to Washington, buying it there, and driving the thing home.
I want my BRM truck!!! :annoyed:

And I apologize if I've hijacked the thread with semi-off topic stuff. There *will* be pics once I get my truck.

That's exactly what I would do. Call the dealership in Washington to confirm they have it on the lot. Ask them to hold it. Give them a hundred bucks if you have to. Fly up there and drive it home. Believe me, you won't be sorry. I've had 2 Tacomas and my son is also on his 2nd. We love them.

Well, he did tell me upfront that his General Sales Manager said they could absorb $300 of it. And when I told him about flying there he said, "I agree" (as in he sees that that wouldn't be a bad choice for me to make) but then offered to take another $250 off. Total out the door would be a flat $37k.

I'll have to sleep on it and maybe call the WA dealership tomorrow. I have a feeling they won't give me the base price the local dealer is. When I went there he was no BS and said, "you obviously know what you want and have shopped around, so I'm just going to give you the lowest possible price we can" and when he came back from the sales office he was hundreds lower than what other local dealerships had quoted for me.

He was the kind of salesman that you don't immediately despise. He was friendly, not pushy in any way, wasn't looking to close, close, close. Which all just kind of won me over on the spot, so part of me wants to give him my business.

If you are happy with the local deal, and they confirm that they can get the exact vehicle that you want, then go for it. Like I said, you won't be disappointed.

If they take $550 off of $1600, then that may be worth it to you. That would have you very close to break even with airfare, gas, transportation to the dealer, meals, and probably one night in a hotel. Any difference would be the convenience of not having to spend two days getting the truck. I'm sure they would rather take some money off the shipping charge to make a sale than risk having another dealer get a guaranteed sale.

Yeah, man. The '13 was a 4 banger and had no power. Truthfully, I was so pumped to get a Tacoma that I was an easy sell on the silver access cab. It wasn't long before I wished I had went with all the bells and whistles (paint matching side mirrors, bumpers, grill surround, bigger engine with tow package, 4 doors with long bed, Navigation - you get the idea). Great thing is our trucks have awesome resale value so they paid the silver taco loan off in full and put me in the BRM. I looked at it as a lease on the silver and just bit the bullet on 2 years of payments for the silver as well. I'll be having the brm forever so to get what I want and to be completely happy I'm cool with the outcome. BRMDCLBFTMFW!!!!

After seeing how hard it's been for some of you to track down a 2015 BRM, I was pretty lucky to find mine at a local dealership. My 1.25" Spidertrax spacers are getting delivered today and that'll be mod #1 for me.

What build did you get? SR5/TRD? AC/DC? SB/LB?

[edit: NM, looks like you got an Off-Road, judging by your profile there...]
