I feel for you man:( but heres the thing I dont know about the new Tacomas but the forst gen ones have already made their name and my uncle bought a 05 F-150 King ranch (Nicest they make) and at 70,000 miles he has already put 3k into fixing crap that shouldnt be going out already:eek: I love ford trucks to but they do not hang with the dependability of the first Gen Tacoma (not putting down the 2 Gen i have never had one) but i would stick with Toyota man, you just got two lemons.

Exactly, with 2k there is no issue with warranty. If they can't fix it thats why there are lemon laws.

Get a 2nd opinion from another dealer. Just to make sure its not some kind of scam they are pulling. Or hell pay an independant shop to look at it.

A new Tacoma is not supposed to blow smoke period, much less blue smoke. Take it back to Toyaota (any dealer) and at least give them a chance to make it right. You paid good money for the truck. It includes the warranty. Get what you paid for unless you have money to throw down a rat hole...

Yup blue smoke means that you are burning oil somewhere. I second the leakdown test. If you don't trust the dealer to be honest then it is worth the cost to take it to another shop to do the leakdown and compression check. Then take the results to the dealer.

A quick search found this as a list of TSBs for F150s. It is not a short list. My buddy just bought a new 2010 F150 and it has been in three separate times for tranny issues already.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I had a 1999 f-150 with the 5.4 loved the truck! Until it started knocking inconsistently, And 11mpg was killing my wallet.

I am also a big fan of F-150's, but the difference is I don't like the cheap looking interior. Otherwise it's a good truck. Your truck is under warranty, get it fixed and enjoy your new truck.

I owned a 2005 trd offroad double cab before either of my 2n generation. Wish I'd never traded that one in for the 07. It was flawless.
