If it does this on most startups you should take it back to the dealer. Anyone who says otherwise is a jackass. You paid good money for this truck (prices are high right now) it shouldn't be doing this.

Take one step at a time , firstly change the oil and put high mileage oil in the truck. Use a Toyota filter .
See if after 500 miles if it improves.
Also pay attention to how much oil you are using . Remember two drops of oil in one of the cylinders will cause blue smoke and a lot of it . If your not using too much oil let’s say a 1/2 of court every 3K miles or even 5 k miles / leave it be and do more frequent oil changes . Then if that don’t work you can pull the plugs after sitting all night and look into the cylinders with a scope and see which cylinder /s have oil / wetness in them . Then at that point you could go down the valve seal road . Either way it’s totally fixable.

Maybe in your excitment and lack of attention to detail, you accidentally put 2 stroke oil in your gas.

Blue smoke is concerning and I'm not saying you should ignore it.. but for now I would just check it daily for a couple weeks and see how fast the oil level is going down.

And also swing by the place you bought it and let them know what's happening. Ask them what they recommend. Don't immediately do what they suggest but just feel them out and see if they would help if it turns into a costly issue

Uhh literally every leakdown/compression test kit has a hose you can use to do this. No one needs welded pipes.

If I love it I'd fix it. If not I'd trade it in to Toyota for a new one. Still get a good amount for it. That's just me everyones situation is different.

    1) This is no good and only going to result in issues down the road + worry and stress from you. Not worth keeping.
    2) Do not wait to report problem to dealer you bought from. Do it ASAP via email so you have documentation of dates.
    3) Have an attorney with this area of expertise speak to dealer (owner or top manager). Tell attorney to keep billed time to 1 hour.
    4) Move on to another Tacoma (one which was well taken care of or a new one)

might as well be with a response like this.

valve guides are pretty easy to replace. but 99% of people on here are scared of doing more than installing raptor lights in their grill. legal action isn't the first thing to do when you buy a used vehicle with a fuck ton of miles on it for the year as-is.

no one dumped anything in his lap. dude bought a 2019 with 80k (which is like 50k more miles than aveage) on it with no warranty. again, it's probably valve seals and not a big deal. the truck isn't totaled.

    fix it and move on.

82k isn't "a fuck ton of miles" regardless of year and no motor with that mileage should have any sort of smoking issues.

Dealers have a legal responsibility to not sell a broken vehicle. If they sold a truck with engine problem they should be on the hook to fix it.

Were not talking a 5k used pos truck. Op prob paid a lot of money for the truck.

And valve stem seals are NOT easy to do, especially on the toyota 3.5.

Do some research before you spew incorrect BS.

He has no idea what he is talking about plus its pure speculation that the motor needs valve stem seals. Its not a common failure even with poor maintenance.

82k is a fuck ton of miles for a 2019. most people do not drive 27k a year.

    it isn't broken.

and yes, they are. pull the valvecovers, pull the cams, do them. heads dont need to come off.

It doesn't matter if you drive 82k miles in one year or ten. miles are miles lol.
