I think a 6.7 PSD is in my future next year...grossing 24k with my 7.3 leaves a little to be desired in the hills

I thought the 7.3 was the holy grail :luvya:

Stock? I know bigger injectors, fuel, and the like add power quickly. That said the newest one is still 18 years old now.

I have been more than happy with the 6.7l. I liked that it shares the same body style as the 99+ Superduties so it had an air of familiarity but drivetrain and interior are significantly better.

I've towed about 15k with it and the truck was confident

I had a 6.0l previously and towing 8k over the passes never left me wanting for more power but the reliability was pitiful.

100% stock except for an exhaust, 6.0 trans cooler and an EBPV delete...I need the trans to stay together towing 17k lol. I contemplated throwing injectors/tune and a trans in it but that’s $4k that would go a long ways towards a 6.7 that is all around a better truck outside of emissions equipment. I honestly really love my 7.3 and it’s been super reliable for me but modern tech is worth something too once you start pulling big weight

That is a really, really sweet setup. It's hard to face that dilemma when you like the truck but like you said it's a significant amount towards a new one.

Would you consider a Duramax or a Cummins?

Thanks! I’m at the racetrack or out wheeling in it 12-14 weekends a year so it’s nice to have a real bed instead of a cot or hotel bed.

The old tow rig was an 06 LBZ Duramax. Loved the powertrain but the rest of the truck turned into a rusty mess that somehow required $1200 a year in unscheduled maintenance so I’m kinda soured on GM stuff...especially one with a non-lift pump assisted CP4 injection pump now.

If I found the right deal on a 3500 Ram with the Aisin trans, I’d consider it too. The BCM side of those trucks is the only thing that scares me on them

Ugh I feel you, the trucks are maintenance heavy. My uncle's 06 6.0 gasser and the GFs LB7 eat ball joints, tie rod ends, unit bearings...

Did you build the trailer from an empty enclosed one?

Fucking GM unit bearings causing ABS engagement all the time is super annoying.

I bought it off a guy in Kansas City already built. Started off as an empty enclosed though. Black and gray water tanks are between the floor crossmembers directly under the toilet and shower and the freshwater tank is in the front storage area with the batteries and pump. Pretty slick setup that can boondock or run shore power. Caught it on a great deal at $10,500
