I'm out ha the derp is just stealing some attention.

I hope those ladies are okay. I hope those officers get a just trial. No more than they deserve and no less. And I hope the rest of the police can continue to do their jobs, despite any stressors, and keep citizens safe.

Too bad things like this happen, I'm just glad they weren't killed. Hopefully the lady shot in the back won't pass away or have long term damage.

I'm going to play the middle on both of these comments.

To say you don't see any protocol violations is asinine. You don't have all the facts, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to make a valid, intelligent judgement...but as someone who has done LE in the past...This does NOT look good to me.

I'm kinda confused how you can say this is a good shoot: Wrong truck, wrong people in it, WAY over the top response to an unknown "threat"...Not a good combo.

Again, without all the facts - It's hard to say that they were in the wrong to shoot that many times. Does it look bad - I think so...but it might make complete sense - I doubt it, but .

This is the same problem that so many recent tragedies have had - Too much push to get information out to EVERYONE right away...Bad info gets passed and mistakes get made.

I don't think the ladies delivering newspapers were shooting at the cops. Also didn't they run the plates?

I'm not bashing cops, but thank God they are horrible shots.

Two shootings with 4 officers firing at least a hundred rounds.

I just drove by the second shooting scene and man, they lit that car up and didnt even hit the person.

And Brunes - you are correct, all we have is the news to go by. I don't feel it was warranted but..

This is why I only take from the photos. I trust news stations less than any other thing on the planet pretty much. Photos shows over the top to me. Don't know what other info has been released or if whatever is finally decided is "true" will even be the truth. Vulture mass media folks are the bottom of the food chain IMO. Worse than cops who made a bad mistake any day.

The one thing I have learned from over decade of experience is no one can really judge what happened until a full investigation is completed. The media tells what it wants to tell you and if you think they are unbiased and balanced, you are wrong. I have seen video of shooting where at frst glance they look like a bad shoot. After watching a different angle of the same shooting, you get a different perspective and figure out it was a good shoot. There is ZERO information about this shooting to make any kind of educated judgement. Once can not ascertain what happened by counting bullet holes, commenting on newspapers being delivered, etc, etc. It is a screwed situation for everyone involved. Everyone. Not to sound like an ass, but I do the job so I know what I am talking about whereas many just like to bash cops with zero understanding of how it really is out there. If it is a bad shoot, so be it. Pay the lawsuit and move on. Before claiming all hell is breaking lose and cops are shooting at any truck on the road why not settle down and see what the investigation uncovers?

Rut roe. Maybe I should take the taco home and grab the Honda... I don't want to get shot up. Jk
I'm sure he's in So. Nevada. If that's true I'm surprised he didn't head south.

Apparently 2 vehicles have been shot up.

    http://www.dailybreeze.com/news/ci_22538891/massive-manhunt-fired-lapd-officer-suspected-2-killings

Details were not immediately available but undercover Los Angeles police officers were involved in a shooting in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, and Torrance officers were involved in a shooting at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said.
The shootings occurred about 5:30 a.m.
"Both instances are related to the investigation of the Dorner subject, but neither involve him," Chase said. "He is not in custody. To our knowledge he is not around here. There have been people who have been shot. I don't know any of the details."
Both shootings involved pickup trucks similar to the one Dorner is said to be driving, Chase said.
KTTV reported that the shootings might involve female newspaper delivery people.

    .
Brunes I agree, IMO, there doesn't look like there is any way this is going down as a good shoot.

IronPig, I respect what you are saying but just paying the lawsuit and moving on is not sufficient. The cops who shot up that truck have to at least lose their jobs, when whole mags get dumped into the wrong vehicle something went terribly wrong, either protocol was not followed, a CO made a very bad decision, the FBI should have been guarding that house and not PD. Whatever the hell it was, that something needs to be looked at and fixed. Heads need to roll for this if not outright charges. I think LAPD needs to take a serious look at their Psych QAL procedures, something obviously failed to put this guy on the force.
