    Flurries? o_O When?

I see a slim chance of flurries in the AM. March 13-15th...

No chances for snow, or even talk about it, for quite a while here. If it happens, oh well. This high water and rock slides are more important now.

Problem is, it rains a little or not at all here, but rains in Pittsburgh. Translates to water coming down the Ohio. Ashland and Huntington have better flood management than L'ville area, so we get to hold onto it longer before releasing downstream.

If you look at where the Jetstream takes a jag, it's right over the lakes, picks up moisture, turns to snow and just dumps. If no weather system move it, it turns into a snow making machine.:curls:

I know how that goes. Worked in Chicago for a while years back.

Sunny and 70 one hour, 30 and blowing snow the next.

All that water flows into the Red. Thank God someone with a brain built that floodway. We would be so screwed without it.

More flood control here than meets the eye.. dams get closer together as you go down river. We have to deal with all the water from up your way plus several more tributaries from Ohio and Indiana state....plus our own.... you think it's bad here...go further downstream like Cairo Illinois where Missisippi River and Ohio river meet.

One of my best friends is the commander of local Army Corps. Of Engineers office at McCalpine Lock and Dam here at Louisville. He's not been home for 6 weeks.

Louisville is the widest point of the Ohio. Currently it's almost double the normal pool.

MSD (metro sewer dept) is pumping over a billion gallons of water a day out of Louisville into river. Thats a staggering volume of water
