Made it to 84 while ago. Entirely too warm even for April.

Chain saw is ready. I'm getting out of here when the time comes

One more night at home then we roll out! I'll finish loading the truck this afternoon. Take dogs to kennel in the morning. Then 3 weeks without an alarm clock.

26 degrees, snow on the way this evening. As if I needed more reasons to leave. Truck is packed, and ready to roll. As soon as the vet's office opens so we can drop off the dogs, the trip begins. (Around 9am to 10am) First meet up is in Kansas City. Off we go! See y'all soon.

Up early! Gassing up and having breakfast. We start the push west as soon as the sun comes up. We'll be checked in at Moab by the end of the day tomorrow. Old people drive slow.

Clearly. You've been in the same place for more than 36 hours.

3 days in fact. The visit to Ft. Sill is just as much a part of our trip as Moab. We'll be at Ft Riley Kansas for 3 days on the return trip. BTW...We are still sitting at the gas station waiting on a parts house to open so the guy with us in the F 150 can get a new serpentine belt.

    Fords....

Always a treat passing Marshall Airfield, since they have nothing better to do than move around giant helicopters on the deck all day

Hoping we get out of Lawton Oklahoma today. Still waiting on Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts to deliver a flippin' belt.

When you get back you can have my spare. Been riding behind the back seat a couple years but won't be of any more use to me

Stopped for dinner...and to work on the freekin ford again. Idler pulley going out. Not a Toyota problem. That's what took the belt down. Only 4 hours of driving until we get to Moab.

We're there dood! Got the F150 back on line and drove on the rest of the way. Funny....My Tacoma has over 150k miles. The Tundra that's travelling with us has 190k. Both stone reliable. The F150 has 23k and has broke down twice already.

We'll be at the outfitter/tour guide by 10AM, then hit the dusty trails. Already saw a few really radical looking 4wds on the dark streets of Moab. This place is cool!

Back in town. We saw incredible scenery. Had incredible food. Spending tomorrow sleeping/resting/preparing for the next phase of the trip. Headed to Ft. Riley Kansas next. Should be there by thursday evening.

First priority now is a hot shower followed by a cold beer.
