There's been a number of sightings of mountain lions throughout the state. And bears. And drunk/high rednecks.

HOT AF. Last day of the pool for 2018. Work load will ease up somewhat. Just not today. The "If I only use the pool one day, it'll be Labor Day" crowd was here last night and will be back today. I'm pretty sure they take stuff OUT of the trash cans and throw it all over the pool deck. I gave all but 2 of my people the day off. So.....Picking up cups and beer cans is the order of the day. Glad I got 2 engineering degrees for that! Oh well. It's OVER in 10 hours.

Free balance and rotation. 5 tires rotation. Only one needed rebalance. Rides great! 25k on Cooper STT PROs. Less than 10% measured wear. These tires are awesomeness!

Lol why would someone buy a light bar bracket like that if all they were gonna do is mount an LED bar to it when they could've just mounted it in the bumper haha. Btw, the real question is...Do you like bluegrass music?

Feeling really bad after getting too hot. Sandy trying to talk me into emergency room. Found small leak on CV boot. Guess that'll be waiting.

OK.....ER gave me fluids and sent me home. Said to take it easy in the heat. Sounds simple enough... Really didn't do enough in the heat to warrant having problems.

I had tires rotated yesterday. They lifted the truck on a lift. Front end at full droop. No grease on CV boot at that time. Sat it down and drove home. Found traces of grease on left outer boot. Hmmm. Cleaned it off with brake cleaner. Drove into work while ago. Absolutely ZERO signs of grease. Hmmmmm. Must keep close watch. I may buy a new half shaft (CV shaft) and just have it ready. Wouldn't hurt to have a spare.

@beertimecontinuum Have you ever seen a CV boot leak some grease and not again? Is there a vent hole that would expel grease if boot is fully extended/flexed and returned to normal position.

    Or am I screwed?

No hole, are you sure it was CV grease?

It was grease.... Thick black grease.....and only in one spot about the size of a half dollar. May have hit a wad of grease off another vehicle....Just not sure. No more showed up after 35 miles of interstate speed driving.

I have seen that, especially after a lift or change in lift. Can be enough pressure to force some past the clamps but then never again. In my case I added band clamps and stopped it...I think the old OE clamps were wearing out some.

CV grease isnt thick and black though... Ball joint grease or sway link grease typically is

I got under the truck and found 3 more "blobs" of grease stuck to skid plate, frame, and on the rear axle tube. So much, if it was from the CV, it would be dry by now. I'm thinking I might have got bombed on the highway and one just coincidentally hit the CV boot. I'll clean up everything and watch for any more signs of grease.

Ok. Cleaned all signs of grease off CV boot. Drove 65 miles at 70 mph and checked. Not a hint of new grease.

    Inspected very close.

    Calling it good.

Will watch for a few days
