I have a 2010 that didn't come with JBL or Bluetooth. I installed a BluLogic a few years ago and it has worked great. About a month or so ago I installed the phone switches in the right side of my steering wheel. It looks good but doesn't work with my non-JBL radio or BluLogic system. I think to get that steering wheel to work, you'd need a JBL head unit or non-stock radio with Bluetooth with some type of switch.

There is a connecting crossover cable that is required to get it to work. if you just swapped out the blank with the switch then it will not work. You will also need a Bluetooth compatible head unit to enable the features.

Crossover cable was installed too. Moral of the story is that if you don't have the correct head unit, Bluetooth isn't going to work (even if you have BluLogic) just because you put in new switches in the steering wheel.

I added the right sided steering wheel controls and the crossover cable recently too. i have a 2008 non-JBL and have a newly installed Kenwood aftermarket deck with all the bells and whistles. my right sided controls don't work right either (they do different stuff than I want them to), but I think that's more so a function of not having the steering wheel controller module programmed right. As I didn't installed the head unit myself, and my truck being in the body shop for the past 7 weeks (fender bender), I assume i'll have to somehow get the module programmed right. may take it to bestbuy or somewhere for assistance... b/c last time i messed around behind my old head unit, I had a hell of a time getting it tucked back right as there is hardly any room behind there in the old 2nd gens

Can you elaborate on the crossover cable? Not familiar with that. I'm still running the original head unit, and want to know what I need when I finally replace it down the road. When I do replace it, will buy one with Bluetooth and Apple Car-play.

    (I have a 2008 Tacoma)
