Bluetooth audio lag

From what I've already read, everyone's lags when playing a video via Bluetooth. But everyone says it doesn't do that for call audio. Mine does it on call audio too. Makes conversations hard bc each party is constantly starting sentences then stoping bc they think they are interrupting the other person bc of the lag
Am I the only one? Is there a fix?
2015 TRD dcsb 4x4. Phone is an LG stylio 4.

I've found some amount of lag inherent in all Bluetooth data streams. Because it stems from the processing required to encode/compress and decode/decompress the stream, the amount of lag varies directly with the complexity of the stream. I'm not aware of any real fix, though it can sometimes be mitigated by disconnecting/reconnecting, unpairing/repairing, or migrating to equipment with more processing power (e.g., phone with a better CPU and more memory).

 

From what I've seen online only a couple have mentioned it occurring during a call. Most complain about it when streaming video. I'll be the first to admit I never have the latest or greatest phone. Mostly budget minded phones so maybe that is the issue. I will also try to unpair it and see if that helps.

 

You may need to update your entune. I have no lag when using the call feature, though I do have an s8.

 

Apologies for not clearly tying stream complexity to audio vs video. One of the reasons you see more comments about the problem with video streams is because they contain more data (i.e., require more processing power/time to encode/compress and decode/decompress. Pure audio streams (especially "low fidelity" phone calls) is less complex, so tend to display less latency.

+1. Ensuring you have the latest software on both your phone and stereo is one of the first things to do when experiencing anomalies. (I shouldn't have assumed OP did this.)

 

How does one update the entune?

 

well it seems the my phone calls (less complex) seem to lag just the same as the video streaming.
