I just changed my oil on my 2011 Tacoma. I went ahead and reset the "Maintenance Req" light by following the 2 step process (hold odo reset for 5 seconds while turning key to "on" position). Immediately after that my bluetooth said "talking..." on my radio display. I had my phone in my pocket without a call going on. Come to find out, the bluetooth only comes on when my text is open on my phone (iphone 4s). I tried to make a call and the bluetooth didn't work at all. I even tried turning the truck on and off multiple times without any change. Anyone ever experience this before? Everything was working fine before the light reset.

I think that I would go into the phone Bluetooth part on your phone and delete your Tacoma radio, then re-pair the two again. I have never experienced exactly that, I have had dropouts when I had a 2014 Corolla loaner.

I just recently got a Windows Phone (Nokia 928 Lumia).... not really wild about it and would prefer my IPhone, never the less, both my '07 Camry and '13 Tacoma now wake up when a text comes in. It tells me that I have a text from xxx, would you care for me to read it? It reads the text and asks me how I would like to respond. I tell it what to type and it replies to the text... and so far it has works flawlessly, even when driving down the road with road noise!

^^^Definitely try resetting your phone and radio Bluetooth. Then pair them again. I have a lot of issues with mine. Half the time it works, the other half I have to do extra things to get it to work. Sometimes I notice if my phone is locked, it won't play anything until I unlock the phone and push play on the phone itself.

I don't know if this is an issue with my iPhone or the radio.

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. I ending up resolving the issue. I turned my phone off, and the next time i started my truck, it started working... Go Figure right? It's maybe the third time that my bluetooth has done something weird like that. I have the JBL system. Is this pretty common?

I have the JBL. Never had a Bluetooth issue and have used multiple (Android) phones.

Maybe it's because I have an iPhone? Damn technology
