I’m having Bluetooth connection issues in my 2013 Tacoma. It doesn’t automatically connect when I start the vehicle it usually does (Bluetooth is on, on the phone) and when I click “home” and “Bluetooth audio” then “select phone” to try and connect it, it says “Waiting on Bluetooth connection” then it sits there and doesn’t do anything..
Has anyone experienced this before? If so what are some possible fixes ?

Delete all devices and re-pair them. You might want to check that pairing is A2DP.

It won’t let me view the previously connected users or even add/delete devices, are there any other solutions ? Thanks for your time and reply.

Has your phone ever been connected to the truck? If not, review instructions for pairing your phone and repeat the process.

Yes it was paired to the truck, this issue started occurring 2 nights ago and ever since then the Bluetooth for the truck itself hasn’t been working proplerly or connecting to any “paired” phones at all.

It didn’t work, it keeps saying “Waiting on Bluetooth...” and stays like that regardless if I click on Apps then Phone or if I click Home then “Select Phone” option. Has anyone experienced anything like this? If so what have you done that fixed it ? Thanks.

Sure sounds like there’s no pairing or that Bluetooth is disabled on the phone.

I have had this truck since 2013 and paired all of my phones to it fine but this issue recently occurred where it would say “waiting on Bluetooth” and wouldn’t do anything else but the phone itself connects to my 2018 Tacoma and other vehicles with Bluetooth just fine

Yes and it won’t connect with any other phones either that are able to connect to other vehicles with Bluetooth

Mine (2013) will no longer pair with the truck just like you describe. It will not send a signal to the phone.

But I don’t use blutooth so I really could care less.

I use the boothtooth function very often due to receiving calls often and using the hands free function. I just ended up ordering this piece from Amazon that plugs into the car like an adaptor that comes with 2 USB ports and can also use hands free / Bluetooth.

Mine has been having the same problems. Mine will not even show bluetooth as an option in settings. My USB port has been acting weird as well and will only connect to my phone sometimes. (Less than often). Going to dealership today. Seems a lot of people are having this problem. Will post what they respond with.

Okay so "waiting for blue tooth" tried to connect any and all the phones that have ever been connected with the radio failed to fix anything. Then I read about turning ignition to on but not starting engine and letting the radio power on then holding in the "app" button at the same time turning lights on then off 3 times (I thought someone was jerking my chain) brought up a diagnostic screen. In the bottom left corner toggle button "INT" it will say something about personalize data yes or no, I pressed yes and exited out by holding in the power button and then blue-tooth was working again.
Hope this helps, if your like me there was no way I was going to wait a month for it to magically start working again.
    Cheers

Unbelievable! It did work, then it went away, then I was able to reload it. Not sure how long it will work, but an unbelievably funky fix.

I did a similar technique posted by another, except hold down memory clr instead. It didn't work, so I'll try your idea of INT and personalize data 'yes', then exit with power button.
