I have '17 SR5 with Entune Audio Plus, no JBL or Tech package. Like several on here, I have had chronic issues with Bluetooth connecting and music skipping. I found the solution below on the Internet and it has worked so far, 4-5 days of no issues. See below for settings correction.

    Go to Home Screen
    Settings
    Bluetooth
    Select your phone
Hit the button that says "Device Info"
    Select "Connect Audio From"
You then have two options, Vehicle and Device.
Mine was set on "Vehicle". I changed to "Device" and it has been flawless for 4-5 days.
It connects everytime I get in the truck, no skipping or having to toggle BT on and off to connect.
I can also switch between FM, AM, or XM radio and back to Bluetooth using the mode button on the steering wheel. This almost always caused the BT music to skip when going back to BT music.

I hope this helps some of you out there having the same issues. It's been my only real complaint with the truck so far....

Edit: I have android Moto X Pure running 6.0

Just a note, it also states in the owners manual you should not have more than one music source connected at the same time, such as Bluetooth and another music device plugged in to the USB or AUX port.

Cool. I'm going to try this. If it doesn't work then you'll have to fight me.

Glad I came across this. Gonna have to try it today. I bought a 2017 Tacoma less than 5 days ago and already have the issue with Bluetooth skipping all over.

It worked for me. I did notice that it switched back to Vehicle at some point. But I put it back and it seems to be keeping.
