I think they just take the battery cables off and its reset, maybe more but i don't know for sure. Still have yet to have an issue with it. No contacts stored or favorites and CarPlay/bluetooth works just fine. Hopefully it will last.

I genuinely thought I was the only one having the phone disconnect issue and this thread has been both a blessing and a beating for me. On the plus side, I’m not alone. On the down side, there doesn’t seem to be a concrete fix.

Update: As of this post I have had no issues with dropped calls or anything else. Since the dealer removed the battery and reset the settings in the head unit I am good. No favorites or contacts stored and keeping it that way. Not saying its the ultimate fix but so far its working for me. Good luck out there.

I’ve been having the same issue for several months. My iPhone is now updated with version 14.4.2. I will try the hard reset by unplugging the battery and no favorites or contact sync. Hopefully that solves the problem.

Anyone else having success on the dropped calls? My truck has a recall and I’m going to talk to them about the dropped calls when I take it in

I went though all the fixes outlined above (all of them). Been working closely with our local dealer who is great and they even replaced the head unit in the dash with a new one - after the warranty had expired. I think they’ve done everything under the sun and Ive still got the issues with dropped phone calls (only issue with the unit). It seems to be a known issue with Toyota, but I’m tired of dealing with it. The new unit with all of the updates acts just like the old one. I’ve got 2 relatively new iPhones and they both act the same.

Has anyone found a concrete fix for this? I’m debating on switching to an aftermarket radio with CarPlay but I can decide on which one. I don’t ever listen to the radio - I just need the phone call/Bluetooth issue fixed.

I've had this issue with my truck for over a year now. It's super annoying. At first I thought it was my phone (I had an outdated iPhone 7 plus at the time) but things did not change once I upgraded to an iPhone 12. Is there a fix that ever came from this issue? Being a business owner losing calls and having your entire Bluetooth reset gets frustrating after awhile.

No fix that I know of, I had to take my 2019 in for a recall repair and the tech said he had had complaints about it and they later called and said it would be $100 to update the radio but could not guarantee that would fix it, no thanks! I think it a bug in some trucks and after you try and update your only option is swap to aftermarket head unit. I have not seen any reports if anyone went to Android if that fixed it. I’m still dealing with it for now probably just going to swap head units.

I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread but let you all know I solved the problem last July by installing an aftermarket head unit. Good riddance.
