When I get in the truck from the gym I still have my earbuds in and I want to continue to listen through them, however, the truck's bluetooth takes over and begins to play it through the truck's speakers. Even if I turn audio off on the truck (depress the volume knob) it still diverts the volume from my earbuds to the trucks bluetooth, however, no sound comes out of the truck's speakers.

Is there a way to turn off bluetooth without having to re-pair my phone with the truck every time?

Couldn't you just turn Bluetooth off on your phone? I don't know what you have, but my Android LG G5 I can turn BT on and off easily, and it remebers all my bt connections, so when I turn it back on it will auto connect.

Plastidipped the front grill, and that's all I've had time for.
I hate people who do this, and I hate myself for preaching... but I hate seeing people who wear headphones while driving. You need to be able to hear horns, sirens, trains, rumbles or anything else coming your way and you can't do that with headphones in. I'm sorry... I really hate myself right now, but it's a big pet-peeve of mine... that, and people giving away the right of way. Don't even get me started on that one!

I appreciate your concern, but I never said I drive with them in. I'm an avid podcast listener and I often times will set in my truck until I reach a natural stopping point for whatever it is I'm listening to. Most often it's better to be sure of your circumstances prior to chastising others.

Of course this is an obvious solution, but still requires me to take an action. I would prefer that unless I have truck's audio turned on and the source set to Bluetooth for it not to automatically grab control of my phone.

Life is hard. What kind of phone do you have? Mine is simple, just as Smitty said, I can tap a down arrow, tap Bluetooth, and its off. Just reverse and its on. Not that difficult.

I see two options here; one: get a new phone, and two: get a new truck

Yeah, that makes no sense. Why wouldn't you just prefer to finish listening to the podcast on your truck speakers?

Why wouldn't you drive as you finished listening to your podcast?

I don't care what you do but own it

Wondering if there was a more streamlined option, but it appears there is not. Thanks.

If you want to mess with NFC tags and something techy you could always get a tag and program it to toggle the settings of your bluetooth ON/OFF. Then stash it in the cab somewhere it would be easy to wave the phone by.....that is if the manual effort is to annoying.

There could be a many reasons why and multiple scenarios where you wouldn't want the truck to automatically take precedent over your earbuds. Your lack of imagination is not an excuse to attack others.

@okccj I am on your side here, screw these guys that want to try to tell you how to live your life. You wanted a simple answer to a simple bluetooth question, not a lecture on safe driving.

Yeah, seems like some of the people around here should join the DriversEducationWorld forum.

Do you actually listen to anything on the entune system besides calls? If not, you should be able to go into the bluetooth settings on your phone and make is just for phone only and disable media.

Yeah, I do bounce around so I don't think I'd like to disable media.

What I noticed today was that even with the source set to FM radio and playing it still switched to the bluetooth from my phone. It's seems to be behaving like Bluetooth is the default source.
