I have a T-Mobile G1 with the android operating system. I also have a 2007 TRD Sport SR5 with the 6 disc changer (is it obvious if it's a JBL?). What I'd really like to do is have the capability to pair my phone with the stereo so that I can play music from the phone, as well as have hands-free capabilities for calls. Ideally it would all be hidden behind the stereo so it looks stock. I was thinking using the USA-SPEC or something like it, with a bluetooth receiver plugged into that. Some problems are:

    1. The bluetooth receiver needs power, I figure I can steal 12V from the stereo..?
    2. I need a mic, as I don't think the one on the phone works when paired with a bluetooth device
    3. I can't find any tried and true products that people don't have complaints about (i.e. volume problems with the USA-SPEC)

There is a nice little unit called the MOTOROKR t505 that uses an FM transmitter, but I hate the FM transmitter dealies, I just want it hardwired. It also uses a rechargable battery, and I'd rather just power from the car battery.

I could probably find a bunch of junk and put it together (me=engineer) but it'd be nice if someone had a suggestion for a nice setup to start with. Well, anyone?

Are you trying to keep the stock look for a reason? Why not just go after market HU w/bluetooth adapter?

That Blu Logic system looks pretty sharp. It seems simple enough to make it play music through the stereo system, but it neglects to mention anything about music except that it mutes the stereo while the phone is in use. Anyone have experience with this system?

I have dealer installed Blulogic in my 09. Stereo is a 6 disc factory but not JBL. My phone is a Motorola Droid. Blulogic plays my music from my phone thru the stereo but the only volume control is with Blulogic or phone. Volume will not work on stereo running music thru phone (using bluetooth ). Can't adjust Bass, treble ect while in this mode. . Google GPS navigation also runs thru blulogic via stereo. All sounds are muted when call comes in... call takes precedence over all others.

I like it. I can't figure out if it works on an 07 stock head unit. Everywhere you can buy it says 2010, and some select others say 2008-2010. anybody got one on a 2007?

How's the sound quality? Where do you have your mic mounted? Some people say others have trouble hearing them when the mic is down by the knockout panels.

I'm tempted to go with a new head unit, but I really like having the steering wheel controls work. I'll be honest i haven't looked into it that heavily yet... any suggestions on a head unit that works with bluetooth, the stock 07 wheel buttons, also has a audio in jack, and doesn't look like a 16 year old would put it in his tricked-out honda civic? (...LEDs all over the place and shit...)

Thank you all for your input. Forums are great!
