Boat Remodel

Nice... I personally do not like tower boats. They are a bitch to load in the wind lol, and I feel like I'm gonna tip over.

 

Yikes. How tall is it? Looks around 10 feet buy the way the camera is angled that's gonna be a bitch in anything higher than 2-3 foot swells.

 

the deck is 5 feet off the deck of the boat.

How long is the boat? We have a 21' Sea Pro with a Mercury.

Why the platform? What kind of fishing do y'all do? Knowing how our boat handles, it must be a PITA on a windy day.

Started some of the wiring today..going pretty smoothly so it should be ready by the weekend if our parts come in.

Threw some rods in the rod holders to see how they sit..beautiful

 

couple of things, that's a big tower and I don't see any hinges, that will limit your travels, also you have to relearn how to operate the boat now, the handling characteristics will change drastically, trust me.

 

yes we know the tower is tall..but its not taller than a normal offshore boat would be with a t-top..so the height is not much of an issue..

also thanks for your concern but we know how to handle our boat.

 

sorry didn't mean to sound like a smart ass, I ran a 21' CC for years in the Keys mostly dolphin and sails, added a smaller tower than that and it was like a different boat altogether especially in a good chop or wind, took some getting used to.

 

Nice rig you got there Kameron. I fish in the lower part of the Chesapeake bay and site casting for cobia's and red's has become very popular the past few years. Having the tower will certainly offer an advantage. I'm considering one for my 23' sea ox. GL with the wiring and controls and keep us updated to the end

Heres a look at how the wiring is being done...

runs from the floor. up the black tube. into the tower and to the control box...once we are finished the black tube will be shortened to necessary length..

 

The guy dropped ropes thru the legs for us. It's also really easy to get a snake thru it

 

Most of the wiring is done..now just touch up work and cleaning up the wiring,

then we mount the dock box, cooler, and livewell.

control box is done for now..just gotta clean up the wiring.

got the gas gauge installed tonight as well as a new throttle.

eventually we will install the trim tab switch under the gas gauge
