    Does anyone have one of these? Or have seen them in person? Thoughts about it?
    Thinking on getting one for use as a recovery/tow point if need be instead of getting a hitch shackle set up.

    I think calling it a skid plate is a bit of a stretch - it's not really protecting much.

    I think a D-ring hitch mount is better anyway, since you can pull from the side and not have a pinch point or sharp edges on the sides to damage your strap. I use a couple rocks for wheel chocks - I don't need to bring some with me (you should have two, anyway).

    Just seems like one more thing to pack away, when you likely have things already in your kit that do what this thing claims to do.

    I was thinking of making a version of it that would incorporate a d-ring hitch. Might come in handy!
