Hellz to the NO unless you like the look of body damage. Strictly a cosmetic and functional step.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think they should be called "rock steps" then. I'm not dogging them, just stating that. I've never liked the look of steps (so I bought sliders) and these look great IMO. Just don't buy from Trends Auto or Trucktoys. :)

Just installed. Took about 30-40 minutes. Pretty straightforward. My Dad helped out, which was really nice. These would be kind of a pain installing solo, they are HEAVY.

Jackstands or a lengthways laid file tote :)

Or cinder blocks. Probably not a c-clamp, though...be afraid of it slipping at the angle and clocking me in the noggin :)

But yeah. I got my bench presses out of the way that day, before hitting the gym.

Edit--Looks good! What did you do to black out your shiny Tacoma badge? How delicate is the removal of the letters?

Plasti dip. Didn't even have to remove them. Just spray them then it peels off the paint but sticks to the decals!
But I did end up taking some letters off the tailgate. V6, SR5, etc... It was just too much for my taste. Let it sit in the sun for a while, then hair dryer to the letters, then use some fishing line and peel them off. Use some WD40 or Goo gone to finish removing all the 3M adhesive. Very easy.

Do these at least help a bit with getting in and out of the truck?

Yes, they do. I don't use them (6'1" and all legs) but I bought them for my daughter, wife, and other short people that get in and out of my truck. Plus they are nice to stand on when washing the roof of the truck.

I think Body Armor is a bit of a misnomer here. Those steps mount to the rockers, not the frame. So don't expect any protection.

If you wheel your truck I'd look for a frame mounted solution. They do look nice though.

Install was easy with jack stands, I did it myself took about an hour. I like them a lot they look great can't even notice them all that much and they serve the purpose of steps great. I would recommend and they were inexpensive as well. With Amazon prime I paid 277.00 including tax right to my front door.

    Just getting started
This comment was posted a few pages back... These are 'step bars' and not 'slider bars'. These are not something for a serious off road guy looking for protection. I guess the name of the company 'Body Armor' is misleading some folks. Anyway, great product, something that makes my truck look a little different, and it didn't break the bank. Win-Win in my book.

I dont have the exact size for you, you will need to take time and find metal screws that fit. It took me a visit to Lowes, Home Depot, and finally a Fastenal to find the right type of screw. It was the only annoying thing I found about buying this. Good luck, but you will find them eventually.
