I called in to support when I was installing these and was told that they could be used for a jacking point. Has anyone ever done it?

Oh had these mounted for a few weeks now. Really like how they look and function for steps.

I wouldn't treat these as actual sliders. They are just beefy looking steps IMO

When you step on these do they have any flex, especially in the area where the one bracket doesn't line up with the bolt holes??? There was another set of steps I liked (ICI Magnum RT) but I tried stepping on them and they flexed super bad. I weigh 210lbs.

I weigh the same. No flex whatsoever.

I'm 6'3" 285, and they don't flex at all even when I stand with both feet on them to wash the top of the cab. They are strong.

I suggest getting that in writing from them before you damage your truck trying it. Even if the steps are strong enough, they're mounted to the body. Jack points are either the frame itself or something very solidly attached to the frame.

It would be an emergency only situation for me for sure, and not something I'd do in the driveway. They do tuck up really tightly to the truck and are very strong, and I think they'd work in a pinch. Mine have supported the weight of the truck sliding over a river rock that destroyed my factory skid plates, and have prevented body damage by saplings/ stumps.

I use 4x4 to get in and out of hunting/ camping locations. I don't go out and try to test the limits of my truck. Said another way, if I can go around something I'll go around it. These satisfy my needs very well and look great. I'll likely weld up attachment points to the frame at some point.

Been lurking these on Amazon for a while, $285 on prime. Found a set new in the box on Craigslist for $100. Guy ordered them for his Access Cab but they didn't fit. Bolted them up today, they look great. Definitely put the brackets on the steps first, then use jack stands to lift them up to the truck assembled. Much easier that way. Took me about 1 1/2 hours by myself.

I know I was stoked, had to drive 1 1/2 hours down to PA to pick them up. Totally worth it.

I wouldn't think twice about having to drive that far for that kind of a deal

Just look through this thread. There are lots of detailed pictures. They come up to the top of the pinch welds and cover to the bottom of the frame rails when looking from the side. Basically, they cover all that is unsightly and protect very well.

If you are looking for just steps these are great, but don't be fooled by the body armor name. I wouldn't use these like they are sliders.

I actually ended up selling mine and have sliders now for more protection

Thanks 4 the info yea I'm not planning to be doing any sliding with them just more for a clean looking step that hugs the rocker and looks mean ha ha. our offloading here gets pretty bad but not to the point of having to slide on stuff hopefully.
