Body Armor TC-6125 Overland Bed Rack

I found this on Wallyworld's website.
It looked a little sketchy since its from a 3rd party vendor, not Walmart. I decided to just roll the dice, it's $636 here and close to $1K everywhere else ican find it. Ended up working out:

Yes, I was going to get the CBI rack but was hesitant due to their reputation of having trouble filling orders. When isaw this for $640 I jumped.

 

i bought my aluminum cbi bedrack 2nd hand, and personally delt with CBI issues. Id just be hesitant with the way the top crossbars are, in sleeping in a tent. What is the rack rated for?

 

I don't know what the rating is. Those rails are bolted on solid.

 

Could you post a picture of where the top rails mount to the frame please? Are they locked in that specific location or are they moveable at all?

 

You can see the whole inside view, the outside bolt on the front of the bed, the first bolt in the bedside rail, then a bolt in the back in front of the tailgate. It is in a fixed position, can't be moved.

These pictures are appreciated too! I hadn't seen anyone with this rack yet, and I'm thinking about buying it. Does it only come with one set of two accessory mounts, for maxtrax/rotopax?

 

Yes, comes with 2, but you can buy more accessory mounts. They bolt in and can be moved around.

 

The cross bars partially overlap the frame to support the weight. They use three bolts on the inside rail. They can be positioned anywhere along the rail.

Also, here is a quote from Body Armor's technical specialist regarding capacity:

"The rack as a whole weighs roughly 145 pounds. Your travel load capacity is 350 pounds, static load is 800 pounds. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns."

 

How much does the average RTT weigh? 200lbs?

I know it's an older thread, but I'm curious if you can take the raised cross bars off and mount flat cross bars to get a rtt or whatever lower on the rack?

 

You'd have to fab your own, by I don't see why not.

 

Hey Man, do you know what the dimension is from the top of the bed rail to the top of the cross member where the tent mounts to? Or does anyone know? haha trying to run a long tent on a short bed and dont want the tent hanging of the back.. sooo I need to clear the antenna lol.
