I would avoid the body lift.

Unless you go LT, the only suspension lifts available for 5-lugs are spacer lifts. Readylift and Fat Bob's garage each make a kit.

Man, it really depends what your looking at doing with your truck. If you want to do a lot of 'real' 4 wheeling, i would advise against it, as it will not increase your clearance, just your center of gravity, which kind of goes against trail cruising. If you're just looking to make your truck sit higher, for bigger tires or just the appeal, and don't have an extra $2-3 grand, look into the body lift kit. Body lift kits are kind of looked down on at this site, as most of the members here are into off-roading the right way. Body kits are usually just spacers, and can be removed once you feel ready to pony up for the suspension kit. Trucks with them just kind of look off unless you have larger tires, IMO.

I actually bought my 05 recently, and the previous owner installed a 3" revtech lift kit on it. I didn't exactly seek out a Taco with a lift, but I wasn't going to shy away from it. And all-in-all, the ride isn't too hard and I'm really not disappointed. Pretty soon though, (like six months) I will swap the spacers out for suspension that is actually made for real off-road use. Its basically preference and application. Damn that's an essay of sorts.

Oh, just saw that you don't have a 4x4.
