okay okay okay......listen if you want a body lift get it. they are available everywhere, for cheap. if you wheel your truck alot i wouldnt recomend it.... it will cause more problems in the long run with tweaking things. if you wheel once a month but daily drive your rig then do it. plus 37's will look awesome. but there are other ways to get more lift that are just as cheap as body lifts. what set up do you have now? like suspension wise? toss some pics of your truck up on here

Couldn't he stack a 3 inch coilover lift on top of the 6 inch DB? I though tacoridinghigh did something like that...

Which would be better? Stacked suspension lifts, or suspension and BL?

neither, IMO. stacking suspension lifts exceed the design parameters of EACH lift, and is a bad idea.

If you want a 6" susp lift, but already have a 3". remove the 3" and get a 6". Don't put spacers on a 3" coilover lift, then add 3" blocks to a 3" AAL in the rear.

If you want to do a 6" lift (if you want ANY measure of performance) you'll need an entirely new leaf pack, shackles, shocks, and A-arms, shocks, etc... up front. You can't just drop the A-arms down 6" in the front and add a bunch of AALs and blocks in the rear and expect it to not ride like shit. Hell, at that height, you might as well go for a 4-bar and coil-overs and a SAS up front, glass fenders on all corners, and a roll cage. Personally, I think 6" is too much for an IFS suspension anyway. Get a Total Chaos or other long travel kit that extends the length of the A-arms and axles (thereby lessoning the down angle of the axle) if you want IFS with 6" lift.

Of course, I'm of the mindset that mods like this (lifts) are supposed to *perform*, not just allow you to crawl to the mall with 38 inch tires and doubled Fox reservoir shocks.

As for body lifts, they also do not "perform". They might allow larger tires, but what do larger tires do (for wheelin'), if you don't also have more travel and higher ground clearance. You do get a higher center of gravity, though.

Or you could just cut a little. You already cut your factory crossmember off, so why not do a little more cutting and actually make the truck slightly wheelable. Shit, this guy did it on a 3'' lift and 1'' BL. No need for a massive fawking lift. Unless your a douche bag mall crawlin bro.

    Pretty damn capable

Of course the CG is higher with both types of lifts. The issue for many people here is that there are many other advantages to a susp lift that go along with the negative aspect of a lift. A BL just makes the truck higher with no increase in performance.

For me, I HATE looking at the side of someone's frame rails. It looks stupid, IMO. It basically makes the truck look like the body was an afterthought, not something that's integrated in to the whole vehicle. It's even better when you can see air between the body and frame. Sure, skirt it, but then all you see is 8" of frame under the body. = no bueno.

If that's the look you're going for, then go right ahead, I'm not going to stop you. But when someone asks for an opinion on an open forum like this, you're going to get... wait for it... people's OPINIONS... imagine that...
