I'm pretty sure you're right about the body mounts...I would go no higher than 1-1.5" for a body lift. As long as you keep the lift low, get a quality lift and install it correctly then you should be fine imo.

i think they look good at less then 2" and as long as you lift the bumpers too. anymore then that and it creates a gap between the bed and suspension large enough to see through and ugh it just looks so cheap.

 I purchased my truck with 2.5" body lift already installed. Seriously, considering a new suspension setup in the future.

yup... same thing happened to my friend before i bought his truck. knew it goin in tho, got a killer deal. Luckily my buddy(Low MFG) is a fab master and we fixed that shit... took 30 hours, tons of beer, and some herbal medications:rasta:

I always thought body lifts were a cheap way to fit bigger tires on your truck... was surprised when working on my truck that I saw my buddys stage five frontier had one on it. If its good enough for him then I cant bag it!!

Here's what the PO accomplished before i got this truck...still want a body lift?

It's going to be a royal pain in the ass to fix mine and drop it back down. Probably 30-40 hours of work. No amount of savings is worth having to deal with this.
